Apollo Agriculture is on a transformative mission: to revolutionize small-scale farming across Africa. We’re not just an agri-fintech company — we are a technology-driven platform that empowers farmers with tools for sustainable productivity and increased income. Since our inception, we’ve rapidly expanded to support over 400,000 paying farmers across Kenya and Zambia by offering optimized financing, high-quality farm inputs, expert digital agronomy advice, and comprehensive risk management services.
The engine behind this growth is our relentless commitment to innovation, data-driven decisions, and building user-centered products that directly address the needs of farmers. To continue scaling our impact, we are seeking a highly motivated and strategic Product Manager to join our Nairobi-based team. If you are driven by purpose, eager to build at scale, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you.
About the Role: Product Manager
As a Product Manager at Apollo Agriculture, you will be entrusted with the ownership of one of our core market products. This is a critical role that interfaces directly with cross-functional teams—including engineering, design, operations, and credit—to deliver impactful technology solutions that scale.
You will be responsible for designing and executing product strategies, owning the product lifecycle end-to-end, and consistently iterating based on user insights and performance data. Your focus will be on building reliable, scalable, and customer-centric products that solve complex challenges for smallholder farmers.
This position offers the opportunity to work in an agile, innovation-driven environment where your contributions will directly influence the livelihoods of hundreds of thousands of farmers.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Product Development and Execution
- Collaborate across the organization to shape Apollo’s product strategy and technological roadmap.
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of high-impact product features that enhance our platform’s value and scalability.
- Prioritize product initiatives based on business goals, technical feasibility, and customer needs.
- Own the execution of key product rollouts, ensuring features are shipped on time and meet Apollo’s high-quality standards.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner with engineering, design, operations, and credit teams to deliver robust product solutions that meet both customer and organizational needs.
- Rally internal stakeholders behind a shared vision and coordinate collaborative problem-solving across departments.
- Serve as a strong internal advocate for customers by grounding decisions in real-world data and user feedback.
User-Centered Design and Field Integration
- Work closely with field teams to gather actionable insights from users in the field and use these insights to inform product decisions.
- Conduct field visits, interviews, and data analysis to understand customer pain points and unmet needs.
- Translate complex business challenges into intuitive, user-friendly product features that drive engagement and satisfaction.
Product Lifecycle Management
- Lead every phase of the product lifecycle—from idea to development to post-launch monitoring.
- Establish metrics and tracking systems to evaluate product performance and iterate quickly.
- Maintain an agile and flexible product roadmap that adapts to changing market conditions, internal capabilities, and customer needs.
Organizational Impact and Culture Building
- Model Apollo’s core values by embracing data, seeking customer truths, and holding yourself and your team to a high bar of excellence.
- Take full ownership—not just of your product lane but of Apollo’s broader mission and team performance.
- Be adaptable and embrace change as a necessary element of innovation and growth.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, detail-oriented executor, and natural collaborator. You thrive in a dynamic environment, are comfortable making tough decisions, and always put the customer first. You are someone who:
- Takes ownership and works with urgency to build impactful products.
- Collaborates seamlessly across multiple teams and disciplines.
- Embraces feedback, data, and change as essential ingredients of progress.
- Drives execution with clarity, accountability, and efficiency.
- Thinks deeply and acts quickly, balancing strategic vision with hands-on delivery.
- Possesses a high level of emotional intelligence, empathy, and resilience.
This role is ideal for someone who wants to be at the forefront of meaningful innovation in agriculture and who understands that product management is as much about people and processes as it is about platforms and features.
