We are now seeking to fill the position of Head of IBP (Integrated Business Planning) Kenya, a critical leadership role based in Nairobi. Key Role Dimensions

  • Lead and manage the Integrated Business Planning process across the Kenyan market.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the local executive team, including the Managing Director, Marketing Director, Finance Director, Commercial Director, and Supply Chain Director.
  • Act as the linchpin between local functions and global IBP process owners, ensuring best-in-class integration and planning.
  • Utilize advanced digital tools such as APO/OMP and Anaplan to enhance planning efficiency.

Primary Responsibilities

Governance and Execution of the IBP Process

  • Oversee the entire IBP cycle to meet and exceed Progressive standards, including facilitating and managing the PMR (Product Management Review), DMR (Demand Management Review), SR (Supply Review), and MBR (Management Business Review).
  • Lead the monthly reconciliation process to ensure strategic alignment, develop gap-closing scenarios, and drive actionable business decisions.

Stakeholder Engagement and Influence

  • Facilitate the IR (Integrated Reconciliation) Review with the Finance team, ensuring an agenda focused on performance gaps and opportunities.
  • Support business leaders in defining and meeting objectives by combining insights from the IBP process with broader business activity.
  • Act as an extension of the Executive Team, providing strategic insight and alignment through comprehensive business planning.

Planning Integration and Business Performance

  • Ensure a fully integrated planning process with Finance to create one cohesive and actionable business plan.
  • Engage with Demand and Finance teams to adapt plans in response to evolving assumptions and market dynamics.
  • Oversee the S&OE (Sales & Operations Execution) cycle to maintain agility and responsiveness.

Continuous Improvement and Innovation

  • Champion process excellence and tool optimization, ensuring resistance to ad-hoc and informal workarounds.
  • Lead formal process evaluations using methodologies from the Diageo Playbook and assessment tools.
  • Promote advanced scenario planning and data visualization techniques to inform and support decision-making.

Communication and Visualization

  • Prepare high-impact visual content and dashboards that conform to Diageo standards and deliver insights clearly and compellingly.
  • Use visual storytelling techniques to maintain audience engagement while communicating critical planning narratives.

Decision Support and Information Design

  • Design or support the development of BI (Business Intelligence) reporting mechanisms that provide value-driven insights.
  • Translate analytical outputs into business decisions by aligning outcomes with strategic goals and executive priorities.

Leadership in Business Planning and Strategy

  • Own and manage the end-to-end business planning and budgeting cycle for the Kenyan market.
  • Lead the development and delivery of strategic plans, adapting to changing market and operational requirements.
  • Evaluate financial metrics and reports to proactively identify gaps and define strategic responses.

Executive Presentation and Influence

  • Deliver persuasive, data-backed recommendations to executive audiences, highlighting impact in terms of volume, value, and resources.
  • Establish a position of trust and influence within the team to support high-quality executive decisions.
