1. Charging Infrastructure Electrical Technician
Location: Nairobi, Kenya
Department: Infrastructure and Operations
As a Charging Infrastructure Electrical Technician, you will play a critical role in enabling BasiGo’s electric mobility by ensuring that all charging facilities are installed, operated, and maintained to the highest standards. You will be a vital part of a team that supports the reliability and efficiency of the EV charging network in Kenya.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and commission electrical systems related to EV charging stations, including AC and DC chargers.
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on charging equipment, electrical panels, switchgear, transformers, and related systems.
- Carry out detailed electrical diagnostics and fault finding on installed charging infrastructure.
- Adhere to national and international electrical safety standards while performing installation and maintenance activities.
- Provide input into the planning and layout of new charging station designs based on site surveys and power requirements.
- Coordinate with utility companies, contractors, and other stakeholders to facilitate reliable power supply connections.
- Document work carried out, prepare service reports, and maintain accurate maintenance logs and records.
- Participate in emergency response procedures in case of equipment failure or safety incidents.
- Support the procurement team in evaluating electrical components and vendors for project requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and environmental guidelines in all installation activities.
2. Lead Data Scientist
Location: Nairobi, Kenya
Department: Data Science & Technology
As a Lead Data Scientist, you will lead a growing team responsible for deriving insights from large datasets that power critical business and operational decisions at BasiGo. Your work will directly contribute to optimizing fleet efficiency, energy usage, and predictive maintenance, as well as support the broader strategic goals of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement machine learning models to predict and optimize EV fleet performance, energy consumption, and route efficiency.
- Lead exploratory data analysis efforts and present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to define data requirements and ensure collection processes are robust and scalable.
- Identify key metrics and develop dashboards and tools to support real-time decision-making and performance monitoring.
- Mentor junior data scientists and provide technical leadership in model development, evaluation, and deployment.
- Translate business objectives into data science problems and develop actionable solutions that deliver measurable results.
- Continuously assess new technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance the data science function.
- Drive cross-functional initiatives that leverage data insights to improve customer experience and operational reliability.

3. Cost Accountant

Department: Finance & Accounting
The Cost Accountant role at BasiGo is central to maintaining a clear picture of the company’s financial health through accurate costing and inventory control. You will ensure that product costs are aligned with budgets and contribute to strategic pricing and profitability analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain standard costing systems for products and services, ensuring consistency and accuracy across the business.
- Analyze production costs, variances, and actual manufacturing expenses to provide insights on financial performance.
- Support budgeting processes by providing forecasts related to cost of goods sold, inventory valuations, and production cost drivers.
- Maintain up-to-date records of inventory levels, materials usage, and overhead allocations.
- Reconcile cost discrepancies and resolve accounting issues related to production and procurement activities.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation and analysis of cost records.
- Develop and monitor key cost control metrics and highlight areas of concern or opportunity.
- Collaborate with the operations and procurement teams to identify cost-saving initiatives and implement best practices in cost management.
- Prepare regular reports and dashboards for senior management that include recommendations for improved cost efficiency.
4. Production Engineering Intern

Department: Engineering & Production
This internship offers an exciting opportunity for young engineers to gain hands-on experience in electric vehicle assembly, production systems, and quality assurance. The Production Engineering Intern will work closely with experienced engineers and technicians in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and review of standard operating procedures and production work instructions.
- Support the daily operations of the assembly line, ensuring compliance with production schedules and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with production supervisors to monitor line efficiency, identify bottlenecks, and suggest process improvements.
- Conduct time and motion studies to help streamline workflow and optimize labor utilization.
- Participate in root cause analysis of production issues and contribute to problem-solving activities.
- Collect and analyze production data to track key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Help implement lean manufacturing practices and 5S principles across the production floor.
