Remuneration
- Basic Salary: KES 137,070 – 203,010
- House Allowance: KES 60,000
- Commuter Allowance: KES 20,000
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field or a relevant discipline from a recognized institution.
- Master’s degree in Health Administration, Health Management, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized university.
- At least ten (10) years of progressive experience in a comprehensive healthcare system.
- Proven ability to deliver on strategic objectives and performance targets.
- Strong financial management skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage hospital revenues and costs.
- Familiarity and experience with healthcare quality management systems will be an added advantage.
- Previous experience in a similar leadership role is desirable.

Job Purpose
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will provide strategic leadership and overall administration of the Level 5 Hospital. The CEO reports administratively to the Hospital Board and functionally to the County Chief Officer, overseeing the execution of the hospital’s mandate and the Board’s directives.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the Accounting Officer of the Hospital, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
- Lead and oversee the development and implementation of hospital services, policies, and governance frameworks.
- Direct the strategic planning and implementation processes in alignment with Nairobi City County’s health sector goals.
- Ensure timely preparation and submission of strategic plans, performance contracts, and operational budgets.
- Foster institutional collaborations and strategic partnerships in line with hospital objectives.
- Maintain robust hospital operations through effective management systems and internal controls.
- Cultivate productive relationships with the Board, government agencies, referring physicians, and the media.
- Mobilize financial and technical resources from both public and private sectors.
- Promote sound resource management and staff motivation through effective HR policies and practices.
- Champion a culture of performance, regulatory compliance, and good governance within the institution.
- Strengthen community relations and partnerships to enhance healthcare delivery.
- Advise the Board on key strategic issues affecting the hospital’s performance.
- Uphold a strong referral system and steer the hospital towards accreditation goals, including ISO and Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA).
- Facilitate effective internal communication across all hospital departments.
- Undertake any other responsibilities assigned by the Board from time to time.
