About the Role
The Finishing Process Engineer plays a critical role in the production process at Tetra Pak. This role is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the finishing line, ensuring that processes run efficiently and effectively while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
You will be entrusted with monitoring key performance indicators, conducting performance analyses, and implementing continuous improvement strategies using World Class Manufacturing (WCM) methodologies. Additionally, you will serve as a technical expert on site, supporting the onboarding and training of new employees, and facilitating knowledge transfer across the production team.
As a Finishing Process Engineer, your insights and interventions will directly influence production output, quality metrics, and overall equipment effectiveness, contributing to the broader goals of operational excellence and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Efficiency and Line Optimization
- Take ownership of the equipment efficiency across the finishing process/production line.
- Proactively identify and address inefficiencies or bottlenecks within the production process.
- Use root cause analysis and other structured problem-solving tools to resolve recurring issues.
- Monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Continuously track and evaluate the performance of the production line using relevant KPIs.
- Translate KPI data into actionable insights and performance improvement initiatives.
- Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly reports that reflect process trends and improvement outcomes.
- Problem Solving and Process Integrity
- Address process problems promptly to ensure adherence to safety protocols and product quality standards.
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting during equipment malfunctions or production disruptions.
- Collaborate closely with quality assurance, maintenance, and other departments to resolve process challenges.
- Cross-Functional Coordination
- Serve as the link between upstream and downstream processes within the production line.
- Ensure smooth handovers and synchronization between shifts and process teams.
- Lead or participate in multidisciplinary meetings to align production goals with factory-wide priorities.
- Worksite Safety and Compliance
- Take a leadership role in enforcing safety regulations and promoting a culture of safety on site.
- Conduct regular safety audits and participate in incident investigations.
- Ensure all work is compliant with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- World Class Manufacturing (WCM) Activities
- Actively support and participate in WCM pillar activities across the factory.
- Contribute to the progress of WCM initiatives by identifying improvement areas and implementing corrective actions.
- Champion WCM tools and practices, mentoring others in their application.
- Backup Support for Production Systems (Bex)
- Serve as a backup resource for critical production systems, ensuring continuity in operations.
- Support system updates, troubleshooting, and documentation.
- Onboarding and Training of New Employees
- Facilitate the induction of new employees by introducing them to plant operations, protocols, and safety procedures.
- Provide hands-on training in process management and operational best practices.
- Ensure new team members understand and can execute their roles effectively.
- Training Delivery and Material Development
- Identify knowledge gaps and training needs within the process team.
- Develop and deliver technical training sessions and workshops tailored to various learning needs.
- Continuously update training materials to reflect process changes and improvements.
- Expertise Development and Knowledge Sharing
- Take initiative in personal and professional development by attending relevant training courses and participating in engineering projects.
- Share knowledge with peers through mentorship, documentation, and cross-training initiatives.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the production team.
What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate for the Finishing Process Engineer role should bring a combination of technical knowledge, hands-on experience, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Specifically, we are looking for professionals who meet the following criteria:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or a related discipline).
- A minimum of 4-5 years’ experience in a production or manufacturing environment, with a proven track record of success.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with World Class Manufacturing (WCM) practices and tools.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret process data and implement improvements.
- Familiarity with quality control principles, maintenance procedures, or other production-related disciplines is highly desirable.
- A team player with excellent communication skills and a strong sense of accountability.
