Key Duties and Responsibilities

As a Store Keeper at Java House, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a well-organized, efficient, and accurate inventory management system. Your key responsibilities will include:

Inventory Monitoring and Stock Management

  • Monitor stock levels regularly and reorder supplies to prevent shortages.
  • Receive and inspect incoming deliveries for quality and quantity to ensure they meet required specifications.
  • Store items in their designated areas following company protocols, including FIFO (First In, First Out) and FEFO (First Expired, First Out).
  • Maintain visibility of inventory status for the warehouse team by digitizing stock data and keeping systems updated.

Storage and Warehouse Maintenance

  • Arrange and label stock items accurately on racks, shelves, or bins in assigned inventory locations.
  • Keep the store well-organized and maintain cleanliness and orderliness at all times.
  • Rotate stock appropriately and coordinate disposal of expired or surplus items in line with company procedures.
  • Ensure all goods are stored in compliance with Java House quality procedures and safety standards.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain detailed and accurate inventory records and supporting documentation for all stock movements.
  • Document discrepancies in deliveries and initiate necessary reports for seamless return processes.
  • Prepare and submit weekly and monthly inventory reports including stock reconciliation and audit results.
  • Digitize all manufacturing, retail work orders, and warehouse checklists to support effective documentation practices.

Order Processing and Distribution Support

  • Assist in picking, packing, and marshalling of customer orders for delivery to the National Distribution Centre.
  • Restock items on shelves and ensure availability for daily operational needs.
  • Issue materials based on specific requests and record them accurately in the system.
  • Actively participate in the stock-taking process across all warehouses as required.

Quality and Safety Compliance

  • Conduct routine inventory audits and cyclic stock counts to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Check expiry dates regularly and ensure expired items are handled according to FIFO/FEFO principles.
  • Maintain high levels of safety awareness and report any risks or breaches to ensure a secure work environment.

Job Specifications

Qualifications

  • A Certificate in Purchasing and Supplies Management is desirable but not mandatory.

Experience

  • While the position welcomes fresh graduates, previous experience in storekeeping or warehouse operations is an added advantage.
  • Candidates with experience in fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environments are especially encouraged to apply.
  • Familiarity with warehouse procedures and retail logistics would be beneficial.

IT and Analytical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is required for data analysis and report preparation.
  • Ability to analyze financial and inventory data effectively.
  • Competence in inventory software and warehouse management systems will be an advantage.

Communication Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills are necessary for internal reporting and coordination with suppliers and team members.

Special Conditions of Employment

The Store Keeper role at Java House requires a level of physical fitness and flexibility due to the demands of a warehouse setting. Candidates should be prepared for the following:

  • Ability to frequently lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Capability to work in varying warehouse temperatures depending on the season.
  • Physically active and able to move efficiently through store aisles, shelves, and racking areas.
