We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Patient Attendant. This role is critical in ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of our patients, and it includes responsibilities that require a valid driver’s license for patient transfers using hospital vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient care assistance:
- Assist patients with daily activities, including feeding, grooming, and mobility, while maintaining dignity and respect.
- Monitor and report changes in patients’ behavior or condition to nursing staff.
- Transportation of Patients:
- Safely transport patients to appointments, therapy sessions, or other facilities using hospital vehicles.
- Ensure vehicles are clean, fueled, and ready for use.
- Bed Making and room maintenance:
- Prepare and maintain patient beds and living areas to ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment.
- Assist with light housekeeping duties as needed.
- Support during therapeutic activities and out of the hospital procedures:
- Accompany patients to recreational or therapeutic activities and out of the hospital procedures, providing support and supervision.
- Patient observation & safety monitoring
- Prevent unauthorized leave (elopement/absconding).
- Intervene to reduce risks of self-harm or harm to others.
- Document unusual behaviors or safety concerns for the clinical team.
- Assist in restraining patients when necessary, following proper guidelines.
- Documentation:
- Record patient interactions, vital signs, and incidents accurately and promptly.
Key Requirements
- • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- • High school education and patient attendance certification.
- • 2 years’ experience in a psychiatric hospital setting.
- • Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and empathy.
- • Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally.
