This mid-level contract role offers a unique opportunity for a technically skilled professional to contribute to the operations of CITAM by managing its dynamic ICT infrastructure.
Overall Job Summary
The ICT Systems Administrator will be responsible for the design, implementation, security, support, and maintenance of CITAM’s ICT systems. The position ensures the consistent delivery of high-quality information systems and infrastructure necessary to support CITAM’s multifaceted ministry operations, including education, hospitality, church management, and general administration.
The successful candidate will play a key role in safeguarding CITAM’s data, enhancing ICT service delivery, and improving system performance across all ministry centers.
Key Responsibilities
The role requires a high degree of technical expertise, organizational awareness, and commitment to excellence. The primary responsibilities for this position include:
1. ICT Systems Maintenance and Management
- Oversee the maintenance, configuration, integration, and reliable operation of core ICT systems including:
- ERP Systems (Sage X3, Sage 300)
- School Management Systems (Xenesis)
- Hospitality Management Systems
- Church Management Systems
- Office 365 Suite
- Active Directory (on-premise and Azure)
- Ensure consistent uptime and optimal performance of network servers and virtualization platforms.
- Administer automation processes to improve system efficiency.
2. Troubleshooting and Diagnostics
- Proactively troubleshoot hardware and software issues using diagnostic tools.
- Document all identified problems and their resolutions in a timely and structured manner.
- Prioritize resolution of issues based on organizational impact and urgency.
- Liaise with internal departments and external vendors for complex issues.
3. Documentation and Technical Planning
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems configurations and network layouts.
- Draft technical specifications for new ICT infrastructure projects and upgrade plans.
- Collaborate with management and stakeholders in the planning and rollout of new systems or modifications.
4. Data Backup and Disaster Recovery
- Design, implement, and manage robust backup solutions and disaster recovery strategies.
- Schedule regular backup operations to safeguard against data loss.
- Regularly test failover and recovery protocols to ensure business continuity.
5. Helpdesk and Desktop Support
- Lead desktop support initiatives and provide high-quality helpdesk services to staff across CITAM centers.
- Ensure all user-end equipment, including UPS systems and sound systems, are operational and maintained.
- Minimize system downtimes by offering swift resolution to reported issues.
6. Storage and Database Management
- Conduct capacity and storage planning to anticipate organizational growth.
- Administer Microsoft SQL Server Database Systems, including:
- Installation
- Scripting
- Performance optimization
- Backup and restoration
- Monitor and optimize database performance to ensure reliability.
7. ICT Policy and Compliance
- Implement and review CITAM’s ICT policies to align with technological advancements and organizational goals.
- Ensure full compliance with ISO standards and best practices.
- Conduct periodic system audits to identify and mitigate risks.
8. Network and Security Management
- Implement and maintain robust network security protocols.
- Prevent unauthorized access, system modifications, and data breaches.
- Manage and troubleshoot access control issues.
- Install and administer CITAM’s IT security tools, such as firewalls and antivirus programs.
9. Licensing and Vendor Coordination
- Coordinate the acquisition and renewal of software and hardware licenses.
- Maintain strong working relationships with ICT vendors.
- Ensure that annual maintenance contracts are up to date.
- Monitor licensing compliance and security certifications.
Minimum Requirements
To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate must meet the following qualifications and experience criteria:
- A born-again, mature Christian who adheres to the CITAM Statement of Faith.
- A minimum of five (5) years of continuous hands-on experience in system administration, database management, or network support.
- Proven experience working with Sage X3 and Sage 300 ERP platforms.
- Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies with a focus on Microsoft Azure.
- Familiarity with virtualization platforms such as VMware or equivalent.
- Proficient in Microsoft SQL Server database installation, administration, scripting, troubleshooting, and backup.
- Demonstrated experience implementing and managing IT operations, including storage solutions, security protocols, disaster recovery, and service desk systems.
- Expertise in deploying and administering Active Directory solutions (both on-premise and Azure).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Certification as an Azure Administrator Associate.
- Formal training in Sage X3 and Sage 300.
