Job Purpose
The primary objective of this role is to drive the growth of Britam’s general insurance (GI) business through intermediaries and strategic partnerships, ensuring that annual premium targets are consistently achieved. The successful candidate will be expected to identify and recruit intermediaries, support them in selling Britam’s GI products, and maintain high levels of client and partner satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
As a Corporate Sales Executive, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
- Business Acquisition and Growth
- Secure new general insurance business through a robust network of intermediaries.
- Work consistently to meet or exceed set annual premium targets.
- Execute strategic initiatives and market-specific action plans to drive continuous growth.
- Share timely and relevant market intelligence with supervisors to adjust strategies when necessary.
- Client and Partner Retention
- Retain existing general insurance clients through excellent relationship management.
- Deliver high standards of customer service to both clients and intermediaries.
- Address client and intermediary issues promptly, ensuring satisfactory resolutions to complaints.
- Intermediary Relationship Management
- Recruit new intermediaries aligned with Britam’s growth objectives.
- Facilitate the conversion of Financial Advisors (FAs) and Independent Financial Advisors (IFAs) into active GI business contributors.
- Foster strategic partnerships with intermediaries to optimize business development.
- Conduct regular training sessions for intermediaries on general insurance products and provide them with marketing and incentive tools.
- Submit intermediary training schedules and follow up on implementation.
- Sales Support and Reporting
- Assist with the completion and submission of proposal forms to the underwriting department.
- Coordinate with the underwriting team to ensure that risks are assessed and accepted per company guidelines.
- Collaborate with the branch manager and other departments to align sales strategies and meet company objectives.
- Prepare and submit daily and weekly performance reports to management, tracking business activity and outcomes.
- Client Service and Policy Administration
- Provide support in the renewal of existing policies and ensure timely processing.
- Follow up on pending premium collections and maintain a clean premium ledger.
- Address client inquiries and ensure they receive appropriate and timely responses.
- Support the claims process by following up on any issues raised by intermediaries and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Commission and Claims Follow-up
- Follow up on the disbursement of commissions to intermediaries to maintain trust and motivation.
- Work closely with the claims department to address concerns raised by clients and intermediaries regarding claim settlements.
Working Relationships
The Corporate Sales Executive will closely collaborate with the following:
- Branch Manager: To align with branch goals and strategies.
- Underwriting Department: To ensure accurate and timely underwriting of GI business.
- Other Lines of Business: To cross-sell and promote integrated financial services offered by Britam.
- Intermediaries and Financial Advisors: To strengthen distribution channels and drive premium generation.
Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role, the candidate should possess the following:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
- A professional qualification in Insurance such as DIP ACII, DIP IIK, ACII, or IIK.
- A minimum of 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in the insurance industry.
