About the Position

The HR Business Partner – Corporate Functions (HRBP) will serve as a strategic interface between the HR function and designated business units at d.light. This individual will be instrumental in embedding forward-looking human resource development strategies that promote operational excellence and empower our people. The HRBP will report directly to the Global Director of People & Culture and work closely with Group Functional Heads.

Key Responsibilities

The HRBP will be entrusted with a broad scope of responsibilities essential to the successful operation of our global HR strategies. Below is a detailed description of the duties and areas of focus for this role:

1. Annual Manpower Planning

  • Collaborate with the Global Director of People & Culture and Group Functional Heads to lead the Group’s annual manpower planning exercise.
  • Develop and maintain the HR functional budget in alignment with organizational goals, ensuring adequate forecasting for headcount, training, employee benefits, insurance, and welfare initiatives.
  • Oversee headcount planning in line with strategic business needs, while maintaining cost efficiency and operational effectiveness.

2. Recruitment and Talent Acquisition

  • Work closely with Group Functional Heads to attract and recruit top-tier talent that aligns with the approved manpower plan.
  • Develop and manage efficient recruitment strategies, using innovative sourcing methods and employer branding initiatives to reach the best candidates.
  • Support onboarding processes to ensure smooth integration of new hires into the organization.

3. Capability Building and Learning Development

  • Design and implement training and development frameworks tailored to both in-house and external learning needs.
  • Conduct training needs assessments to identify gaps and propose solutions that support both individual and organizational growth.
  • Oversee new employee orientation programs, ensure consistent management development pathways, and implement mechanisms to measure training impact and return on investment.

4. Performance Management

  • Develop and oversee the Group-wide performance management system aligned with d.light’s strategic cycles and KPIs.
  • Provide guidance to managers on setting performance goals, delivering feedback, and conducting performance reviews.
  • Encourage a performance-driven culture by linking employee development with business outcomes.

5. Reward and Compensation Management

  • Partner with the Global Director of People & Culture and other leaders to support the implementation of equitable salary structures across all job bands.
  • Design and promote a comprehensive reward, incentive, and benefits system that recognizes performance, innovation, and impact.
  • Assist in periodic market surveys and benchmarking to ensure competitive compensation offerings.

6. Employee Relations and Compliance

  • Act as a key advisor and mediator in all employee relations matters, fostering a positive and compliant workplace culture.
  • Manage performance improvement plans, handle grievances, and ensure proper disciplinary procedures, redundancies, and absence management processes are followed in accordance with both national and international labor laws.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of HR legal standards and ensure full compliance across functional areas.

7. Reporting and HR Metrics

  • Collaborate with the Group HR team to generate and analyze reports critical for decision-making and HR strategy formulation.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards to track employee engagement, turnover, absenteeism, performance metrics, and other HR indicators.
  • Prepare regular reports for the leadership team and support ad hoc data requests as necessary.

8. Workplace Health and Safety

  • In coordination with Group Functional Heads, develop and enforce health and safety policies and procedures across d.light offices.
  • Oversee implementation of OSHA-related programs and compliance, including the tracking, reporting, and posting of health and safety data.
  • Promote a culture of workplace wellness and proactive risk management.

Required Skills and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Studies, or Social Sciences from a recognized institution.
  • A Higher National Diploma in Human Resources Management from a reputable organization is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a similar HR leadership role.
  • Strong business and HR acumen with demonstrated capabilities in problem-solving, critical thinking, and strategic planning.
  • Hands-on experience in managing change, driving staff motivation, and facilitating cultural alignment in multi-cultural and diverse organizational settings.
  • In-depth understanding of local and international labor laws, employee relations, and compliance frameworks.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • High degree of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism in dealing with sensitive information.
  • Exceptional time management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated passion for social enterprise, sustainability, and the development of people and communities.
