Job Description:
The Chairperson of the Sugar Arbitration Tribunal will be responsible for providing overall leadership in the adjudication of sugar-related disputes arising within the sugar industry, particularly between growers and millers, or other contractual stakeholders. The Chairperson’s core duty is to ensure that tribunal operations are fair, timely, and legally sound, contributing to the stability and development of Kenya’s sugar sector.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Preside over tribunal hearings and ensure that proceedings are conducted in accordance with relevant laws, rules, and procedures.
  • Interpret and apply statutes, regulations, and contractual terms relating to the sugar industry to resolve disputes.
  • Coordinate the activities of the Tribunal to ensure effective case management and delivery of timely decisions.
  • Prepare and deliver well-reasoned written rulings and judgments.
  • Supervise members of the Tribunal and ensure high standards of professionalism, impartiality, and integrity.

Job Description:
Members of the Sugar Arbitration Tribunal work as part of a panel to determine disputes referred to the Tribunal. They play an adjudicative role in ensuring that sugar industry conflicts are resolved fairly and efficiently in line with the law and industry practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in tribunal proceedings and deliberations relating to sugar sector disputes.
  • Examine evidence and legal arguments submitted by parties involved in disputes.
  • Contribute to the drafting of decisions and ensure that rulings reflect a consensus or majority view, as required.
  • Maintain objectivity and impartiality in the evaluation of facts and application of the law.

Job Description:
The Chairperson of the Co-operative Tribunal provides leadership in the resolution of disputes arising within the cooperative sector, including but not limited to issues related to membership rights, governance of societies, financial conflicts, and regulatory compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the adjudication process for all cases brought before the Co-operative Tribunal.
  • Coordinate and manage the tribunal’s workflow to ensure timely and lawful resolution of cooperative-related disputes.
  • Interpret and apply relevant cooperative laws, regulations, and by-laws to individual cases.
  • Ensure that all tribunal procedures are conducted fairly, transparently, and efficiently.

Job Description:
The Director of Security Services is charged with establishing and maintaining robust security systems for the Judiciary to protect judicial officers, staff, court users, infrastructure, and information assets. The role entails designing strategic frameworks for physical and digital security, managing risks, and coordinating with national security agencies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the Judiciary’s comprehensive security policies and procedures.
  • Oversee risk assessments and mitigation strategies for court stations and Judiciary premises nationwide.
  • Lead security planning for judicial officers, high-profile court proceedings, and sensitive tribunals.
  • Coordinate internal security teams and ensure proper deployment of security personnel.
  • Supervise the implementation of electronic security systems such as surveillance, access control, and alarm systems.
  • Ensure compliance with constitutional, legal, and regulatory standards relating to security services.
  • Investigate security breaches or incidents and prepare reports with recommendations for corrective measures.
