We are pleased to announce several exciting internship opportunities for dynamic, passionate, and driven individuals who wish to contribute to the transformational work we do.

Available Internship Positions

  1. Humanitarian Emergency Affairs Intern

The Humanitarian Emergency Affairs (HEA) Intern will support the enhancement of information management systems and processes within World Vision Kenya’s humanitarian programming. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the definition and development of data requirements, data flows, quality assurance, and standard operating procedures for information management.
  • Assisting in the design, testing, and deployment of data collection forms using Esri’s ArcGIS platform and other tools such as Kobo and ODK.
  • Coordinating and consolidating humanitarian response data from nine field offices for use in situation reports, funding appeals, infographics, maps, and other documentation.
  • Supporting documentation of best practices, lessons learned, and innovations under humanitarian programming.
  • Managing HEA’s digital platforms such as Box and TEAMs to ensure effective knowledge management.
  • Maintaining updated records on humanitarian response activities, including a register and action points tracker.
  • Working collaboratively with humanitarian advisors and the Anticipatory Action Coordinator to ensure data usability for program decision-making.
  1. Digital Media & Graphic Design Interns (Two Positions)

The Digital Media & Graphic Design Internship provides an opportunity for creative individuals to work alongside communications teams to strengthen World Vision’s brand identity and enhance visual storytelling. The primary responsibilities include:

  • Creating visual communication materials such as reports, flyers, publications, posters, and digital media content.
  • Developing and executing social media engagement strategies and content calendars to increase online visibility and engagement.
  • Conceptualizing and designing campaign materials aligned with World Vision’s branding and strategic objectives.
  • Collaborating with the regional communications team to support campaign designs, events, and special projects.
  • Participating in internal communications activities to gain broader organizational insights.
  1. Advocacy & External Engagement Intern – East Africa Region

This internship offers experience in advocacy coordination and external stakeholder engagement across the East Africa Region. The intern will:

  • Organize and support advocacy meetings including preparing agendas, taking notes, and filing documentation on Box for easy reference.
  • Maintain updated contact lists for internal teams and external partners.
  • Draft quarterly field office (FO) reports highlighting policy outcomes, people reached, and impact on children.
  • Assist in tracking advocacy events and milestones aligned with the organization’s strategic framework.
  • Support the organization of documents and records related to advocacy and engagement work.
  1. Digital Media & Graphic Design Intern – Additional Position

This intern role mirrors the responsibilities mentioned above in the two digital media roles, reinforcing the need for additional capacity in the communications team. Duties will include:

  • Creating multimedia content and publication materials.
  • Executing and reporting on social media engagement efforts.
  • Collaborating with the communications team to conceptualize visuals for projects, events, and awareness campaigns.
  • Strengthening the brand’s visual identity through targeted design efforts.
  • Participating in internal communication processes for exposure to organizational messaging frameworks.
  1. Advocacy & External Engagement Intern – African Union Liaison Office (AULO)

This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain insight into continental policy influence and AU engagement. The responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring and reporting on African Union engagements relevant to World Vision’s mission.
  • Organizing and participating in meetings, including preparing agendas and maintaining accurate records.
  • Maintaining the AULO’s events tracker and stakeholder contact database.
  • Drafting quarterly engagement reports that highlight achievements in advocacy, people reached, and child impact.
  • Contributing to thought leadership through the drafting of policy briefs, articles, or other advocacy pieces.
  • Updating AULO’s statistical reports quarterly to support evidence-based advocacy.
  1. Finance Intern

This role provides an excellent opportunity for candidates interested in finance and accounting to gain experience in World Vision Kenya’s financial systems and procedures. Responsibilities include:

Accounts Payable:

  • Processing cheque and online payments after verification of supporting documents.
  • Preparing monthly creditor reconciliations and liaising with vendors for issue resolution.
  • Coordinating with the Finance Officer to reconcile outstanding bank transactions.

Cash and Advance Management:

  • Processing cash requests in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Coordinating with bank tellers to reconcile pending collections.
  • Managing and allocating corporate credit card expenses and advance accounts.

General Ledger and Inter-office Settlements:

  • Allocating and reconciling balance sheet accounts, particularly those related to inter-office payments.
  • Tracking unallocated transactions and ensuring monthly settlements.

Document Management and Archiving:

  • Filing and tracking financial documents using a digital or manual system.
  • Ensuring legibility and accessibility of archived records.
  • Retrieving documentation for audits and regulatory requests.

Administrative Support:

  • Supporting event and facility logistics.
  • Participating in finance team meetings and contributing to continuous learning efforts.
  1. Monitoring and Evaluation Intern

This internship offers a critical role in supporting data-driven decision-making through monitoring and evaluation activities. The intern will:

  • Assist in reviewing standardized monitoring forms from national offices to ensure data consistency.
  • Support the collation and validation of outcome data and reach indicators from field offices.
  • Aid in analysis and synthesis of M&E data across multiple offices for regional reporting.
  • Contribute to the review of baseline assessments, evaluations, and sustainability plans.
  • Facilitate the use of digital data tools such as Kobo Collect and ODK in the field.
  • Support indicator review and contribute to “Our Impact Our Story” reporting processes.
  • Participate in team brainstorming sessions and innovation discussions.
  • Assist in establishing a data management and visualization system for reach and impact reporting.
