The Hospital seeks to recruit for the following senior leadership and strategic roles:
1. Director, Human Resources & Administration
Job Purpose:
The Director of Human Resources & Administration will provide strategic leadership in all aspects of human resource management and administrative operations. The role aims to develop a high-performing workforce aligned with the hospital’s mission while fostering a work environment that emphasizes performance, spiritual discipline, respect, collaboration, and professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and implement HR strategies, policies, and systems that align with the hospital’s goals and Christian ethos.
- Lead the development and implementation of talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, learning and development, succession planning, and employee retention strategies.
- Ensure legal compliance with labor laws and regulations while upholding ethical and Christian-based HR practices.
- Oversee employee relations, grievances, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions in a manner consistent with biblical principles and institutional policies.
- Develop administrative systems and oversee non-clinical operations including transport, security, catering, and facility management.
- Lead HR reporting and analytics to guide management decision-making.
- Foster a culture of servant leadership and promote staff wellness and spiritual growth.
- Supervise and mentor HR and administrative staff, encouraging excellence and accountability.
2. Director, Fundraising & Development
Job Purpose:
The Director of Fundraising & Development will lead all resource mobilization efforts to support Tenwek Hospital’s strategic priorities, infrastructure expansion, medical outreach, and patient care programs. The role is essential in building strategic partnerships, donor relationships, and effective campaigns to ensure long-term financial sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies aligned with the hospital’s vision and mission.
- Build and manage relationships with local and international donors, foundations, churches, and corporate sponsors.
- Prepare compelling grant proposals, concept papers, and donor reports that reflect the impact and spiritual value of Tenwek’s work.
- Collaborate with hospital leadership and departments to identify priority funding needs and opportunities.
- Organize and lead fundraising events, campaigns, and missions-based support drives.
- Develop donor recognition, retention, and stewardship programs.
- Ensure compliance with donor requirements and ethical fundraising standards.
- Maintain an up-to-date donor database and provide regular performance reports.
- Represent the hospital in key fundraising forums and networks.
3. Director, Strategy & Projects Management
Job Purpose:
The Director of Strategy & Projects Management is responsible for shaping the strategic direction of the hospital and ensuring the successful planning and execution of projects and strategic initiatives. This role ensures the alignment of resources, priorities, and operations with the hospital’s mission and long-term goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Spearhead the development, review, and implementation of the hospital’s strategic plan.
- Coordinate inter-departmental projects and initiatives, ensuring timely delivery, cost efficiency, and desired impact.
- Establish and maintain effective project management frameworks and tools.
- Monitor and evaluate strategic performance indicators and regularly report progress to senior leadership.
- Facilitate organizational learning and innovation through data-driven planning and feedback mechanisms.
- Identify new strategic opportunities for growth, partnerships, and service expansion.
- Build internal capacity for strategic thinking and project delivery.
- Lead change management initiatives in alignment with Christian values and institutional mission.
- Ensure accountability, risk management, and value-for-money in all strategic projects.
4. Principal, School of Chaplaincy
Job Purpose:
The Principal of the School of Chaplaincy will oversee the overall management, academic direction, and spiritual mission of the School, ensuring it produces well-equipped Christian chaplains to serve in hospitals, schools, prisons, and other ministries. This role combines educational leadership with deep pastoral commitment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide visionary and Christ-centered leadership for the School of Chaplaincy.
- Oversee academic programming, curriculum development, student admissions, and faculty performance.
- Ensure the integration of biblical theology and practical ministry skills in all training programs.
- Mentor and guide both staff and students, nurturing their spiritual and professional growth.
- Build partnerships with other theological institutions, churches, and ministry organizations.
- Promote research, community outreach, and publication in the field of chaplaincy and Christian counseling.
- Oversee the financial and administrative management of the School.
- Ensure accreditation compliance and academic excellence.
- Represent the School in national and international chaplaincy forums.
5. Head of Marketing, Brand and Communications
Job Purpose:
The Head of Marketing, Brand and Communications will be responsible for enhancing the visibility, reputation, and engagement of Tenwek Hospital through strategic communication and branding initiatives. The role plays a vital part in shaping the hospital’s public image and building trust with key stakeholders including patients, partners, donors, and the Christian community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement marketing and communication strategies aligned with the hospital’s mission and values.
- Oversee all external communications including press releases, newsletters, social media, and promotional materials.
- Manage brand identity, ensuring consistency across all platforms and touchpoints.
- Coordinate patient education, awareness campaigns, and public health messaging.
- Build and maintain relationships with media, church networks, and partner institutions.
- Provide internal communications support to foster organizational cohesion and spiritual engagement.
- Lead crisis communication and reputation management strategies.
- Monitor media coverage and public sentiment, advising management on opportunities and risks.
- Supervise marketing and communications staff and ensure quality and integrity in messaging.
