1. Manager, Management Accounting (Job Grade S8)

Location: Nairobi
Reports to: General Manager, Finance
Job Purpose:
The Manager, Management Accounting will oversee the development and implementation of the Authority’s budgeting, financial planning, and performance monitoring systems. The role supports data-driven decision-making by ensuring timely provision of accurate financial information for strategic and operational use.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, consolidation, and monitoring of the Authority’s annual budget, ensuring alignment with corporate strategic plans.
- Provide regular financial performance analysis reports for management decision-making.
- Evaluate and monitor budget performance across departments, ensuring effective use of financial resources.
- Coordinate the preparation of periodic management accounts and variance analysis reports.
- Guide departments on budgetary control processes and monitor compliance with approved budgets.
- Support strategic planning processes by providing financial forecasts and scenario modeling.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and develop initiatives to improve financial efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to Public Finance Management (PFM) guidelines and relevant financial regulations.
- Supervise and mentor staff in the management accounting section to enhance productivity and professional development.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors in relation to management accounting reports.

2. Manager, Risk and Compliance (Job Grade S8)

Reports to: General Manager, Risk Management & Internal Audit
Job Purpose:
This role is responsible for formulating and implementing enterprise risk management and compliance strategies across KAA. The position ensures proactive identification, evaluation, and mitigation of organizational risks, and fosters a culture of compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and implement risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures.
- Oversee risk assessments across KAA’s operations and projects, identifying potential threats and recommending mitigation measures.
- Coordinate the development of risk registers and ensure regular risk reviews by relevant departments.
- Facilitate enterprise-wide risk awareness and training programs.
- Monitor the Authority’s compliance with laws, regulations, internal policies, and contractual obligations.
- Lead compliance audits and investigations to detect and address non-compliance issues.
- Collaborate with departmental heads to embed risk management in decision-making processes.
- Report regularly to senior management and the Board Audit and Risk Committee on risk exposures and compliance issues.
- Provide advisory support on strategic initiatives and their associated risk implications.
- Develop business continuity and disaster recovery plans and test their effectiveness periodically.
- Supervise and mentor risk and compliance staff to ensure professional excellence and integrity.
3. Apron Controller Trainee (Forty [40] Vacancies)

Reports to: Apron Controller Supervisor
Job Purpose:
The Apron Controller Trainee will undergo intensive training aimed at equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary to perform apron management functions at Kenya’s airports. Upon successful completion of the training, trainees may be absorbed into full-time operational roles.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Attend and actively participate in a structured training program covering airside operations, safety regulations, and apron control procedures.
- Learn to manage aircraft parking, ground vehicle movements, and personnel coordination on the apron.
- Assist in the allocation of aircraft stands and gates while ensuring minimal congestion and conflict.
- Support apron safety inspections and implement hazard identification protocols.
- Work under supervision to monitor ground handling activities and ensure compliance with aviation safety standards.
- Maintain effective communication with Air Traffic Control (ATC), operations officers, and other stakeholders for smooth airside coordination.
- Assist in managing emergency response coordination on the apron during incidents.
- Undergo assessments and evaluations to demonstrate proficiency in apron management.

4. Internship/Apprenticeship Program (Fifty [50] Vacancies)

Kenya Airports Authority runs a one-year internship/apprenticeship program designed to offer young professionals and recent graduates practical experience in various fields of the aviation sector.
