1. Packing Clerk – Mariakani
Position Overview:
The Packing Clerk will play a critical role in ensuring the proper packaging, labeling, and preparation of steel products for sale and dispatch. This position requires precision, organization, and adherence to packaging and safety protocols to prevent material damage and ensure timely dispatch.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all finished goods are packaged and labeled according to company and customer requirements.
- Inspect products for quality assurance prior to packaging.
- Maintain records of packaged items, including weight, quantity, and type of packaging used.
- Coordinate with production and logistics teams to plan and execute packaging schedules.
- Use packaging tools and equipment efficiently and safely.
- Identify and report any inconsistencies or defects in finished goods before packing.
- Maintain a clean and organized packing area in accordance with workplace safety standards.
- Ensure all packed goods are properly staged for dispatch and marked for easy identification.

Key Responsibilities:
- Set up the shearing machine according to specifications provided in the production schedule.
- Operate the cut-to-length line to produce steel sheets of specified length and width.
- Monitor machine functions to ensure consistent, high-quality output with minimal downtime.
- Perform routine machine maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs as needed.
- Inspect output to ensure conformance to quality standards and dimensions.
- Adjust machine settings when necessary to correct deviations or malfunctions.
- Report and record production data, including quantities sheared, time taken, and machine performance.
- Follow all safety guidelines when handling steel coils and during machine operation.

- Operate overhead cranes to transport steel coils and finished products within the plant.
- Support the production team in moving raw materials to machine lines and finished goods to dispatch areas.
- Perform pre-operation checks to ensure the crane is in safe and optimal working condition.
- Report any faults or mechanical issues to the maintenance team for timely resolution.
- Safely lift, move, and lower heavy materials, adhering to maximum weight specifications.
- Collaborate with signalers and floor supervisors to ensure accurate and safe placement of materials.
- Maintain clear records of crane operations, material movements, and operational issues.
- Ensure the crane is parked and secured after use and that no obstructions are left in the path.

Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate the slitting line according to production requirements.
- Adjust slitting knives and tension controls to meet specific width and thickness requirements.
- Monitor slitting, rewinding, and trimming operations for consistency and accuracy.
- Inspect raw materials and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Identify and resolve minor machine faults and make adjustments to prevent material damage.
- Ensure minimum wastage during slitting operations and maintain high machine uptime.
- Maintain accurate records of production data, including batch numbers, lengths, and scrap generated.
