Job Description
The Prepaid & Network Assurance Analyst will serve as a critical link between Airtel Kenya’s business operations and its financial assurance systems. This role focuses on monitoring, analyzing, and improving processes related to prepaid service revenue and network integrity. The analyst will employ advanced data analytics to detect potential revenue leakages, investigate fraud activities, and implement strategic solutions that reinforce revenue protection.
Key Responsibilities
- Revenue Reconciliation and Assurance
- Conduct comprehensive end-to-end data reconciliations across prepaid platforms, billing systems, and network nodes.
- Validate the accuracy and completeness of billing data, usage records, and revenue-generating events.
- Develop robust controls and monitoring mechanisms to ensure consistent alignment of system outputs and revenue reporting.
- Fraud Detection and Prevention
- Identify, assess, and investigate irregularities and suspicious activities that may point to fraud or revenue loss.
- Implement preventive controls, fraud detection mechanisms, and response strategies tailored for telecom environments.
- Work closely with the Fraud Risk and Internal Audit teams to mitigate exposure and strengthen the organization’s fraud management framework.
- Data Analytics and Automation
- Utilize data analytics tools such as SQL, Power BI, and Python to extract insights, develop dashboards, and automate reports.
- Drive continuous improvement in data modeling and reporting structures to support strategic business decisions.
- Analyze large data sets to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for revenue optimization.
- Root Cause Analysis and Resolution
- Investigate the underlying causes of revenue discrepancies and system mismatches.
- Develop and execute remediation plans to eliminate recurring issues and enhance system reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, Network Operations, and Commercial departments to implement lasting solutions.
- Compliance and Documentation
- Maintain documentation of audit trails, investigation reports, and system change impacts.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards related to revenue assurance.
- Support external and internal audits by providing timely and accurate data and analyses.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Liaise with product, IT, and customer experience teams to understand product designs, system flows, and customer touchpoints.
- Recommend control enhancements in product and process development stages to minimize potential revenue risks.
- Participate in cross-functional projects aimed at improving customer service, reducing fraud risk, and boosting operational efficiency.
- Network and Roaming Operations Oversight
- Monitor and analyze revenue from interconnects, roaming agreements, and network traffic sources.
- Identify any deviations or anomalies in traffic and usage data, particularly those affecting incoming and outgoing roaming services.
- Collaborate with network and commercial teams to ensure that network upgrades or changes are aligned with revenue assurance protocols.
Candidate Profile
This role demands a proactive and analytical mindset, technical acumen, and deep industry knowledge. The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in Revenue Assurance, Fraud Risk Management, and Network & Roaming operations within the telecom sector.
- Proven expertise in identifying revenue leakages and conducting detailed fraud investigations.
- Extensive experience with data analytics and reporting automation using tools such as SQL, Python, and Power BI.
- Familiarity with telecom billing systems, mediation platforms, and call data record (CDR) analysis.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with an ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with attention to detail.
