1. Branch Manager (Open Location)

Purpose of the Role:

The Branch Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing the operations of a designated branch. This includes overseeing assigned legal files, leading a team of Associate Advocates, and ensuring that all litigation matters are handled in a consistent, timely, and cost-effective manner. The incumbent will also ensure that legal activities align with the organization’s strategic direction and legal obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of all litigation activities across various jurisdictions.
  • Supervise Associate Advocates to ensure timely and effective resolution of litigation cases.
  • Develop internal systems and protocols for managing case files, deadlines, and legal documentation.
  • Establish and operationalize the in-house litigation function, including defining team roles and reporting structures.
  • Serve as a key legal advisor to internal stakeholders, providing opinions on risk exposure and legal strategy.
  • Liaise with external legal counsel, regulators, and courts where necessary.
  • Monitor changes in legislation and jurisprudence, and communicate their impact to relevant departments.
  • Foster collaboration with the Claims, Investigations, and Compliance units to ensure a coordinated approach to legal matters.
  • Train and mentor legal staff, promoting professional growth and knowledge sharing.

3. Litigation Advocate (5 Positions)

Purpose of the Role:

The Litigation Advocate will play a pivotal role in representing the company and its insured clients in court, as well as in other forums for dispute resolution. This role requires extensive experience in litigation practice, strong research capabilities, and the ability to manage multiple legal files while working under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent the company and insured clients in court proceedings, arbitrations, and tribunals.
  • Manage a personal caseload with an emphasis on claims defense, insurance-related litigation, and contractual disputes.
  • Prepare pleadings, affidavits, and other legal documents in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Attend court hearings, negotiate settlements, and ensure optimal case outcomes.
  • Maintain proper case records, including documentation, court rulings, and correspondence.

4. Regional Investigators (5 Positions)

Purpose of the Role:

The Regional Investigator will support the Legal and Claims departments through the execution of thorough, discreet, and professional investigations. These will include inquiries into suspected fraudulent claims, potential misconduct, and high-risk incidents. The role is crucial for protecting the company’s financial integrity and legal standing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct investigations into claims flagged for potential fraud, misrepresentation, or other irregularities.
  • Gather and analyze evidence, including documents, witness statements, and digital records.
  • Conduct field visits, interviews, and surveillance as required for comprehensive investigations.
  • Compile detailed and objective investigation reports, outlining findings, conclusions, and recommended actions.
  • Collaborate closely with the Legal, Claims, and Compliance teams to facilitate evidence-based decision-making.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to ethical standards in all investigative activities.
  • Track investigation outcomes and support the implementation of preventative measures to mitigate future risks.
  • Keep up to date with trends in insurance fraud, investigative techniques, and regulatory developments.
