Braeburn Schools Limited, Gitanga Road, is currently seeking a dependable, efficient, and passionate Assistant Cook to support daily food preparation and service operations within the school’s lunch cafeterias. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the cook and head cook in preparing and cooking meals for students and staff.
- Support the meal service process, ensuring prompt and hygienic delivery of meals.

- Assist with receiving, verifying, and properly storing food supplies and catering equipment.

Position: Human Resource Assistant
Location: Braeside Thika

Braeside Thika, a branch of Braeburn Schools Limited, is seeking an experienced and organized Human Resource Assistant to join its HR department. This position is key in providing comprehensive administrative support across the HR function, ensuring efficient processes, accurate records, and compliance with policies. The successful candidate will interact with all levels of staff and contribute to shaping a positive and compliant workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for staff HR matters, offering guidance in alignment with HR policies and best practices.
- Support the end-to-end recruitment and selection processes, from advertisement to onboarding.
- Facilitate smooth onboarding of new staff members, ensuring all documentation and procedures are completed effectively.
- Maintain and update detailed and accurate employee records, including personal data, employment history, benefits information, attendance, and administrative documentation.
- Oversee the administration of medical schemes, managing enrollments, renewals, and claims for both unionized and administrative staff.
- Process overtime records, ensuring proper calculation and timely payroll submissions.
- Coordinate the production and distribution of staff badges and other human resource materials.
- Manage the digital filing of HR documents, ensuring secure and confidential transmission to appropriate destinations.
- Update internal HR digital tools, including Google Drive and the Staff Compliance Register (SCR).
- Coordinate the acquisition and renewal of Good Conduct Certificates for staff as required.
- Complete and maintain Safer Recruitment checklists in line with Braeburn’s safeguarding protocols.
- Organize transportation and compile necessary documents for staff visiting key government offices (e.g., Immigration, NSSF, NHIF, KRA).
- Provide administrative support during disciplinary procedures, ensuring appropriate documentation is filed and processed.
- Monitor and manage staff leave records, duty rotas, and make arrangements for emergency coverage when needed.
- Ensure an orderly and thorough offboarding process for departing staff.
- Perform other HR administrative duties as assigned by the HR Department.
Experience and Competencies Required:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
- A minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience working in a human resource capacity, preferably within an international school environment.
- Must be a registered member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM).
- Solid understanding of HR policies, practices, and Kenyan labor laws.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities to engage with staff at all levels.
- Proficiency in HR Information Systems (HRIS), Google Suite, and Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong teamwork skills, with a willingness to support others in a fast-paced environment.
