GLF Learning Communications Consultant
Overview
The Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) is the world’s largest knowledge-led platform on integrated land use, dedicated to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and Paris Climate Agreement. The Forum takes a holistic approach to create sustainable landscapes that are productive, prosperous, equitable and resilient and considers five cohesive themes of food and livelihoods, landscape restoration, rights, finance, and measuring progress. It is led by the Center for International Forestry Research and World Agroforestry (CIFOR-ICRAF), in collaboration with its Charter Members. Overall Objective: As global demand grows for knowledge and skills to tackle the climate and biodiversity crises, the learning communications consultant will support the visibility and impact of GLF’s learning and capacity development initiatives, namely the Landscape Academy and the Digital Campus, through strategic content creation, digital engagement, and targeted outreach. The ideal candidate combines a global perspective with strong digital and outreach skills and can translate complex sustainability and landscape learning topics into accessible, compelling narratives for diverse audiences and learning community engagement. Experience with digital communications tools and online learning platforms is essential.
Duties and responsibilities
- Provide strategic communications advice on learning and capacity development, identifying key audiences, digital channels, and messaging opportunities throughout regions.
- With support from the GLF Digital Communications and CIFOR-ICRAF Communications teams, design and implement targeted digital campaigns to promote the GLF Landscape Academy, its Digital Campus and the Restoration Education initiative, increase learner engagement, and strengthen the visibility of online courses and capacity development offerings.
- Develop high-quality, engaging communications content (news articles, social media assets, newsletters, reports, and media releases) tailored to donors, learners, partners, and stakeholders across regions and sectors.
- Collaborate closely with the GLF and CIFOR-ICRAF Learning and the Digital Communications teams to ensure consistent, impactful messaging across platforms and products.
- Coordinate efforts to explore innovative digital tools, including new AI-driven solutions, to enhance content delivery, learner engagement, and personalized user experiences.
- Coordinate the design, promotion, and execution of in-person, online or hybrid learning activities, ensuring alignment between learning goals and outreach strategies before, during, and after the events and campaigns.
- Support the website management of the Landscape Academy, Digital Campus and Restoration Education, coordinating or implementing the updates under the supervision of the web team, including SEO and UX/UI optimization.
- Manage online learning communities on the Digital Campus, creating posts and content, driving engagements, and channelling communications onto the learning platform.
Requirements
- Degree in sustainability, communications, marketing, public relations or relevant field. A minimum of 5 years of proven working experience in communications and media outreach
- Experience and understanding of trends in sustainability communications
- Experience with communication for capacity development and education activities, especially e-learning platforms
- Demonstrated experience with stakeholder engagement, partnership coordination and project management
- Excellent/native level in English is required. Strong command of French is an asset. Proficiency in Spanish or German preferred.
- Understanding of global communications and several target audiences across continents
- Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.
- Collaborative team player who is equally comfortable leading or supporting tasks as needed.
- Great interpersonal and communication skills and positive attitude.
Education, knowledge and experience

Terms and conditions
•This is a full-time consultancy position.
•The consultancy services shall be for a period of one year from the earliest possible start date of the contract.
