Role Overview
The Agency Sales Manager will be responsible for managing designated territories under Poa’s Agency Business Model. The position involves overseeing a high-performing team of 7 to 12 Trade Development Representatives (TDRs) and up to 350 active indirect commission-based sales agents.
You will be tasked with achieving consistent business growth through effective sales strategies, market expansion, operational oversight, and team leadership. This is a highly hands-on role that requires tactical execution, people management, strategic thinking, and a relentless commitment to exceeding sales targets and improving customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Growth & Market Expansion
- Deliver consistent monthly sales growth by implementing sales strategies tailored to local market conditions.
- Expand the market footprint within assigned territories to drive increased reach and revenue.
- Identify high-potential zones and collaborate with cross-functional teams to maximize sales performance.
- Recruitment & Onboarding
- Lead the recruitment and onboarding of new Trade Development Representatives and commission-based agents.
- Ensure new hires understand the Poa! business model, product offering, and sales expectations.
- Maintain the manpower levels required to meet territorial sales goals as outlined in the approved plan.
- Performance Management & Training
- Conduct regular performance assessments and analyses to identify skill gaps and growth opportunities.
- Design and implement performance improvement plans for underperformers, while celebrating high achievers.
- Facilitate weekly training and coaching sessions to build technical product knowledge and sharpen sales techniques.
- Customer-Centric Selling, Market Adaptability & Retention
- Advocate for a customer-first approach to selling by embedding empathy, understanding, and responsiveness in all sales interactions.
- Enable teams to adapt quickly to market changes and customer needs while staying focused on long-term goals.
- Monitor customer churn trends and deploy proactive retention strategies through feedback analysis and targeted customer engagements.
- Operational Leadership & Reporting
- Ensure operational excellence by coordinating day-to-day field activities, setting weekly targets, and facilitating route planning.
- Host weekly and monthly sales meetings to review performance metrics, address challenges, and realign strategies.
- Compile detailed reports on team productivity, sales outcomes, and agent engagement for senior leadership.
- Sales & Marketing Alignment
- Work collaboratively with the Marketing team to develop and execute local campaigns, promotions, and activations.
- Provide feedback on campaign performance and return on investment (ROI), while managing budgets allocated for territory marketing activities.
- Culture & Customer Focus

Educational Background
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field is required.
- An MBA or equivalent advanced qualification is an added advantage.
Mandatory Experience
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in sales and sales management.
- Strong experience managing teams within commission-only agent business models at a managerial level.
