Job Description
Reporting to the Tribe Lead – Mobile Data, the role holder will lead in development and execution of the mobile data strategy to generate revenue, acquire and retain customers to secure overall profitability. The role interfaces with SLT, Product owners, growth managers and business unit partners to ensure alignment between overall business goals and market demands.

Commercial Strategy and Planning
Ensure that the commercial strategy is implemented in alignment with overall tribe strategy, market needs and requirements. Responsible for gaining leadership in the market segment in Kenya.
Revenue and Profitability Management
To monitor pricing strategies, margins and cost structures to maximize profitability
Customer and Market Insights
To analyze and generate insights from customer behavior, market trends, competitor activity to develop strategic value propositions and Go-To-Market strategies that will enable Safaricom drive acquisition, usage and retention of Customers, while gaining on key consideration, usage and affinity brand metrics specific to the segment and products.
Partner and Stakeholder Management
To Build and manage strategic partnerships with partners, enterprises and regulator while collaborating cross-functionally with finance, marketing, product, and technical teams.
Leadership and Team Development
To Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team managed though set performance targets to ensure KPI achievement.
Qualifications
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
• Relevant undergraduate degree. A master’s degree is beneficial.
• At least 8 years working experience in the Financial Services Sector, Mobile money and Telco sector business models with a focus on strategy development, product management, product marketing, pricing and analytics etc.
• Highly developed communication skills and ability to manage and champion strategy positions up to Executive levels.
• Critical competencies for success
• Experience in preparation of budgets and forecasts in a large company
• Financial modelling experience, preferably in Excel
• Demonstrated ability to analyze the financial services competitive environment through market trends, market intelligence and providing insights for response to the findings
