The National Crime Research Centre (NCRC), a State Corporation under the Government of Kenya, has announced multiple job openings across research, administrative, financial, human resource, planning, and legal departments. Established under the NCRC Act No. 4 of 1997, the Centre is mandated to carry out research into the causes of crime, its prevention, and dissemination of research findings and recommendations to government agencies. The Centre plays a crucial role in shaping national crime policy and supporting the administration of justice.
In line with its strategic objectives and operational growth, the Centre is seeking to recruit competent, self-driven, and highly professional individuals to fill the following vacant positions:
1. Assistant Director Research – 3 Positions

The Assistant Director Research will provide leadership in the planning, execution, and dissemination of research on criminal trends and related social phenomena. Key responsibilities include supervising research teams, coordinating data collection and analysis, and producing high-quality policy briefs and reports to inform national crime prevention strategies.
2. Assistant Director Finance – 1 Position

The holder of this role will lead the Finance Division, overseeing financial planning, budgeting, and reporting. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with public financial management regulations, preparing financial statements, coordinating audits, and advising management on financial matters to enhance accountability and sustainability.
3. Assistant Director Human Resource – 1 Position

This position is responsible for providing strategic HR leadership and policy direction. Key duties include managing staff recruitment, performance appraisal, employee relations, capacity building, and policy development in line with best practices and relevant legislation.
4. Principal Planning Officer – 1 Position

The Principal Planning Officer will lead the Centre’s planning function, including preparation of strategic and annual work plans, project monitoring and evaluation, and development of funding proposals. The role requires sound analytical skills and the ability to guide implementation of development initiatives.
5. Senior Research Officer – 5 Positions

Senior Research Officers will participate in designing and conducting studies on crime and justice, managing fieldwork, performing data analysis, and writing reports. They will also contribute to policy formulation and present findings at conferences, workshops, and stakeholder forums.
6. Senior Officer Administrator – 1 Position

This position is tasked with overseeing administrative functions such as office logistics, asset management, travel coordination, and general office support. The Senior Officer will ensure seamless day-to-day operations across departments.
7. Senior Knowledge Management Officer – 1 Position

The officer will be responsible for establishing, managing, and maintaining knowledge management systems and practices. Duties include organizing knowledge-sharing platforms, digitizing institutional memory, and enhancing access to research outputs and resources.
8. Human Resource Management Officer – 1 Position

This position supports HR operations including payroll administration, staff records management, leave tracking, and assisting in training and recruitment activities. The officer will contribute to building a motivated and efficient workforce.
9. Supply Chain Management Officer – 1 Position

The Supply Chain Management Officer will be responsible for procurement planning, supplier sourcing, contract management, and stores management in compliance with procurement regulations. The role supports effective delivery of goods and services.
10. Accountant – 1 Position

The Accountant will handle day-to-day accounting operations including bank reconciliations, ledger postings, processing payments, and ensuring financial records are up to date and accurate. The officer will support audits and monthly reporting.
11. Legal Officer – 1 Position

The Legal Officer will offer legal counsel to the Centre, ensure legal compliance, handle litigation matters, and draft legal documents and contracts. The position also involves conducting legal research and supporting policy development.
12. Internal Auditor – 1 Position

The Internal Auditor will plan and conduct internal audits to evaluate the adequacy of controls, accuracy of records, and efficiency of operations. The position plays a key role in risk management, control improvement, and governance assurance.
13. Corporate Communications Officer – 1 Position

The Corporate Communications Officer will develop and implement communication strategies to enhance public awareness and institutional visibility. Duties include media relations, website content management, internal communications, and publication of reports and newsletters.
14. Records Management Officer – 1 Position

The officer will ensure proper creation, storage, retrieval, and disposal of records. This role involves maintaining filing systems, digitizing documents, and ensuring compliance with information governance policies.
15. Office Administrator – 1 Position

The Office Administrator will offer clerical and administrative support including managing correspondence, scheduling meetings, preparing reports, and maintaining office supplies. The position supports smooth running of daily office operations.
