KCB Bank is seeking qualified, motivated, and goal-oriented individuals to serve as Direct Sales Representatives across its various branch locations in Kenya. This position is on a 12-month contract basis and is ideal for individuals with a strong background in sales who are looking to build a lasting career in financial services.
As a Direct Sales Representative, you will play a pivotal role in driving the bank’s retail customer growth strategy. You will interact directly with prospective customers to promote, explain, and sell KCB’s products and services, while ensuring that each customer is guided through the application and onboarding process professionally and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
1. Customer Prospecting and Lead Generation
- Source potential customer leads through multiple channels such as referrals, existing client networks, cross-selling within branches, and sales activations organized by the bank.
- Follow up on sales leads generated through the bank’s marketing activities and digital channels.
2. Product Education and Promotion
- Provide detailed explanations of product features, benefits, and specifications to prospective customers in a clear and accurate manner.
- Ensure product presentations adhere to regulatory standards and uphold customer protection guidelines.
- Treat all customers with respect and fairness while ensuring their needs are well-understood.
3. Application Assistance and Documentation Review
- Guide customers in completing application forms for accounts, loans, or any other financial product they express interest in.
- Carefully review documentation submitted by customers for completeness and accuracy.
- Authenticate all submitted documents by comparing original identification (e.g. National ID, Passport) with photocopies provided.
4. Sales Processing and Submission
- Submit fully completed applications to the relevant Sales Manager or Retail Support Team within 24 hours of customer sign-off.
- Ensure each application is handled securely and in accordance with internal processes.
5. Cross-Selling Bank Products
- Identify and recommend additional products that meet the specific needs of customers, including savings plans, insurance, loan packages, and digital banking solutions.
- Educate customers on the full range of KCB offerings and their suitability based on lifestyle or business goals.
6. Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, both new and existing, by offering high-quality service and follow-up.
- Act as a key point of contact for customers, providing assistance and clarifications when necessary.
7. Market Feedback and Reporting
- Relay customer feedback, inquiries, or complaints to the Sales or Branch Manager for prompt resolution.
- Provide regular updates and market intelligence gathered from fieldwork to support continuous improvement in product offerings and marketing strategy.
- Prepare and submit sales performance reports detailing outreach activities, conversions, challenges, and proposed actions.
8. Document Custody and Compliance
- Maintain strict confidentiality and safe custody of customer documents during the onboarding and processing phase.
- Adhere to all compliance and documentation standards set by the bank and the Central Bank of Kenya.
The Ideal Candidate
To succeed in this role, the ideal applicant must demonstrate high levels of energy, resilience, and a deep passion for sales. The ability to identify opportunities, engage meaningfully with prospects, and work independently toward defined targets will be key.
Minimum Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
- At least 2 years of working experience in a sales or customer acquisition role, preferably in banking, insurance, telecommunications, or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong analytical abilities to assess customer needs and recommend the most suitable banking solutions.
- Demonstrated commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
- Ability to work under pressure and consistently meet or exceed assigned sales targets.
- High level of personal integrity and adherence to confidentiality standards.

Contract Terms
This position is offered on a full-time basis under a 12-month contract. You will operate from an assigned branch or region and be expected to travel within your area to generate leads and close sales.
As part of your role, you may also participate in promotional events, sales activations, and product marketing campaigns organized by the bank.
