Job Purpose

The Marketing Executive will play a pivotal role in driving favorable business growth and customer retention through innovative, cost-effective, and high-impact marketing strategies. Reporting directly to the Marketing and Business Development Manager, the successful candidate will oversee the creation and implementation of dynamic marketing plans that align with the hospital’s strategic vision.

This position demands creativity, strategic thinking, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to identifying market trends, promoting hospital services, and maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.


Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. Strategic Marketing Planning

  • Develop and implement effective marketing strategies and brand enhancement plans that support the hospital’s overall mission and growth objectives.
  • Ensure that all marketing activities are strategically aligned with organizational goals and responsive to emerging trends within the healthcare industry.

2. Business Development and Opportunity Generation

  • Identify, assess, and pursue new business opportunities to increase patient volumes and market share.
  • Actively promote the hospital as a provider of choice through outreach and strategic partnerships.

3. Brand and Content Management

  • Ensure regular updates of marketing materials including brochures, flyers, and service guides.
  • Manage brand consistency across all communication channels and maintain high standards of visual identity.

4. Stakeholder and Client Database Management

  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date database of patients, referral doctors, insurance companies, corporate clients, and other key stakeholders.
  • Leverage the database to support targeted marketing campaigns and personalized communications.

5. Customer Experience Promotion

  • Lead efforts to enhance patient satisfaction and foster a culture of excellence in service delivery.
  • Collaborate with relevant departments to monitor service feedback and implement improvement measures.

6. Visibility and Project Implementation

  • Support implementation of projects aimed at increasing hospital visibility and strengthening the brand within the Mombasa region and beyond.
  • Execute branding initiatives, both onsite and offsite, in collaboration with the relevant teams.

7. Market Intelligence and Data Analysis

  • Conduct thorough market analysis to understand competitor activities, emerging industry trends, and shifting consumer behavior.
  • Translate data insights into actionable marketing strategies that improve engagement and conversion rates.

8. Interdepartmental Collaboration

  • Work closely with clinical, operational, and support teams to ensure cohesive messaging and alignment of service promotion efforts.
  • Ensure marketing initiatives reflect the operational capacity and strategic direction of each department.

9. Outreach and Segmentation

  • Identify new and underserved market segments, and craft bespoke outreach strategies to raise awareness and encourage utilization of hospital services.
  • Tailor marketing messages for specific services such as wellness clinics, maternity, diagnostics, and chronic disease management.

10. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Support

  • Organize and support CSR activities, including medical camps, health fairs, and wellness talks.
  • Ensure proper branding, registration coordination, and follow-up communications with attendees and partners.

11. Online Presence and Digital Marketing

  • Manage the hospital’s website and social media platforms, ensuring timely updates with relevant and engaging content.
  • Monitor performance of digital campaigns and adjust strategies based on analytics and user feedback.

12. Internal Communications

  • Keep staff informed of upcoming marketing initiatives, campaigns, and strategic goals through effective internal communication tools.
  • Encourage departmental participation in promotional activities and campaigns.

13. Targeted Campaign Management

  • Design and implement marketing campaigns tailored to seasonal or high-demand services, such as school-entry medical exams, wellness checks, or pediatric services.
  • Monitor campaign effectiveness and recommend enhancements as needed.

14. Client Feedback and Reputation Management

  • Track and analyze client feedback from various channels (online reviews, surveys, direct feedback) to inform marketing and service improvement strategies.
  • Implement appropriate response strategies to address negative feedback and improve public perception.

15. Media and Advertising Coordination

  • Liaise with advertising agencies, local media, and digital partners to ensure optimal media exposure and strategic advertising placements.
  • Coordinate press releases, interviews, and event coverage to increase brand visibility.

16. Ethical Compliance and Industry Standards

  • Ensure all marketing practices comply with regulatory requirements and ethical standards specific to the healthcare industry.
  • Stay up-to-date with legislation related to healthcare advertising and patient privacy.

17. Relationship Building and Partner Engagement

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clinical teams, administrative personnel, corporate clients, vendors, and community partners.
  • Represent the hospital at public functions, industry events, and partnership forums.

18. Marketing Performance Reporting

  • Prepare regular reports assessing the impact of marketing campaigns, digital engagement metrics, and ROI.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for future improvements based on data-driven analysis.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Commerce, or a business-related field.
  • A professional qualification such as a CIM Diploma is an added advantage.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a healthcare marketing role.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in digital marketing tools, CRM systems, and data analytics.
  • Experience in campaign development, content creation, and strategic planning.
  • Familiarity with the healthcare landscape in the Mombasa region is an added advantage.
