The Community Tracker position is integral to the success of KEMRI’s field-based research initiatives. The role entails close interaction with study participants and community stakeholders to support longitudinal follow-up and ensure data completeness, accuracy, and participant retention.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct participant tracing and follow-up visits in the assigned catchment areas.
  • Update participant contact and locator information, ensuring confidentiality and data integrity.
  • Liaise with local community health volunteers (CHVs), chiefs, and village elders to facilitate smooth field operations.
  • Administer structured tracking forms and capture data using paper-based or electronic systems.
  • Maintain accurate field records and promptly report challenges related to participant tracing.
  • Support community sensitization activities and ensure participants understand study procedures.
  • Refer participants to study clinics for sample collection or scheduled visits where necessary.
  • Adhere to all ethical and operational protocols related to participant engagement and research conduct.
