Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to lead and manage bank branches’ regional relationships within the assigned region, ensuring successful implementation of bancassurance strategies at a regional level. The officer will be responsible for supporting business acquisition across all lines of business including General Insurance (GI), Enterprise Medical Cover (EMC), Life, and Pension products. The role requires ensuring achievement of revenue targets, providing training and support, identifying new partnership opportunities, maintaining compliance with internal and external procedures, and contributing to the company’s growth and profitability goals.
The position is also designed to promote knowledge sharing, facilitate cross-selling of insurance products, and implement innovative sales tactics that strengthen Britam’s market presence in the assigned region.
Key Responsibilities
The duties of the Bancassurance Regional Relationship Officer have been structured into the following focus areas: business acquisition, relationship management, training and knowledge sharing, reporting, and compliance.
1. Business Acquisition and Sales Support
- Work closely with bank branch staff and insurance officers within the region to support acquisition of new business across General Insurance, EMC, Life, and Pension product lines.
- Ensure achievement of set revenue and sales targets through consistent execution of business development initiatives.
- Develop and implement regional sales tactics that are both innovative and effective in driving market penetration and retention.
- Support the repositioning and implementation of new product initiatives and specific strategies as agreed upon by the head office.
- Maintain a healthy and active sales pipeline to facilitate continuous onboarding of new business.
- Provide timely and accurate quotations to bancassurance intermediaries, ensuring delivery within stipulated timeframes.
- Ensure premium payments for closed sales comply with the company’s credit control policy.

- Build, maintain, and strengthen business relationships with regional bank partners, including business development officers, credit officers, relationship managers, and direct sales teams.

- Provide product training and client sensitization initiatives to ensure customers are well informed about solutions and services.
- Follow up with customers after product uptake to gather feedback and improve customer satisfaction.
- Ensure continuous capacity building of partner staff to enhance sales performance and product knowledge.
4. Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal procedures in all bancassurance operations.

6. Additional Responsibilities

- Remain available for deployment to work in any of the six demarcated bancassurance regions in Kenya, depending on organizational needs.
