Introduction
The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) is the UN agency dedicated to promoting socially and environmentally sustainable towns and cities with the goal of providing adequate shelter for all. UN-Habitat is offering an internship opportunity for a Housing Solutions Intern in Nairobi. This position provides hands-on experience in programme management and offers exposure to housing-related initiatives that advance sustainable development.
Job Description
As a Housing Solutions Intern, you will support UN-Habitat’s housing and sustainable urban development agenda. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the design, coordination, and monitoring of housing programmes and projects.
- Supporting research, data collection, and analysis on sustainable housing solutions.
- Drafting reports, briefs, presentations, and other knowledge products related to housing initiatives.
- Assisting in the organization of meetings, workshops, and consultations with stakeholders.
- Supporting project teams in monitoring progress, compiling updates, and maintaining accurate project documentation.
- Collaborating with colleagues to identify innovative approaches that promote affordable, safe, and sustainable housing solutions.
- Performing other tasks as assigned to contribute to programme delivery.
This internship provides exposure to UN-Habitat’s work on housing systems and urban resilience, offering valuable insights into how sustainable housing contributes to global development goals.
