The Kenya Trade Network Agency (KenTrade) is a State Corporation established under The National Treasury and Economic Planning by the Government of Kenya in January 2011. The agency draws its mandate from the National Electronic Single Window System Act, 2022. Its primary responsibility is to implement, operationalize, and manage the Kenya National Electronic Single Window System (KNSWS), now referred to as the Trade Facilitation Platform (TFP).

The agency plays a critical role in simplifying, harmonizing, and automating trade processes in Kenya by providing an efficient single-entry point for trade information and documentation. Through this mandate, KenTrade enhances efficiency in cross-border trade, reduces transaction costs, improves transparency, and contributes to the country’s competitiveness in global commerce.

In pursuit of this mandate, KenTrade invites applications from qualified, motivated, and experienced individuals to fill various positions on permanent and pensionable terms. All applicants must also meet the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya.

This advert includes re-advertised positions as well as new openings, as detailed below.


Re-advertised Positions

  1. Director, Trade Facilitation – KTNA 2 (1 Post)

The Director, Trade Facilitation will provide leadership and strategic direction in promoting efficient trade facilitation within the country. The role is pivotal in shaping policies, strategies, and programs that support ease of doing business and compliance with both local and international trade obligations.

Key responsibilities and day-to-day duties:

  • Leading the formulation and implementation of trade facilitation strategies in line with national and regional goals.
  • Coordinating with government agencies, private sector stakeholders, and international organizations to harmonize trade processes.
  • Overseeing policy development to improve cross-border trade efficiency and compliance with international conventions.
  • Providing expert advisory support to the executive management and the Board on trade facilitation matters.
  • Representing the agency in high-level meetings and negotiations with stakeholders including government ministries, development partners, and regional bodies.
  • Monitoring implementation of facilitation initiatives and ensuring alignment with global best practices.

  1. Internal Auditor – Information Systems – KTNA 7 (1 Post)

The Internal Auditor, Information Systems will provide assurance on the effectiveness, security, and compliance of ICT systems within the agency. The role is vital in protecting sensitive data, safeguarding ICT assets, and ensuring that IT systems function optimally to support the agency’s mandate.

Key responsibilities and day-to-day duties:

  • Conducting regular ICT audits to assess the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of information systems.
  • Reviewing and testing IT controls, including access rights, security configurations, and data backup processes.
  • Identifying vulnerabilities and gaps in IT systems and recommending appropriate corrective measures.
  • Evaluating compliance with ICT policies, procedures, and legal requirements such as data protection laws.

  • Providing guidance on use of the Trade Facilitation Platform and other services.
  • Logging calls, complaints, and resolutions in the system.
  • Escalating unresolved issues to senior officers.
  • Assisting customers with registration and navigation of agency platforms.
  • Maintaining professionalism and courtesy in customer interactions.
  • Preparing daily and weekly reports on call center activities.
  • Supporting customer outreach and awareness campaigns.
  • Ensuring prompt follow-up on pending customer cases.
  • Coordinating with ICT and operations teams to resolve technical issues.
