Detailed Job Description
Business and Systems Analysis
One of the critical responsibilities of the IT Core Systems Analyst – Health is to perform business and systems analysis across the health insurance lifecycle. This involves:
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams such as underwriting, claims, finance, and distribution to gather, document, and analyze business requirements.
- Developing both functional and technical specifications that align with operational needs across the organization’s health insurance operations.
- Mapping existing business processes to system functionalities and identifying areas where automation or improvement can be implemented.
- Playing an active role in backlog development, sprint planning, and release roadmaps in collaboration with the IT Business Relationship Manager (BRM) and business leads.
The analyst is expected to act as a bridge between technical teams and end-users, ensuring the smooth translation of business needs into system capabilities.
Application Support and Maintenance
Ensuring smooth operation of health insurance platforms is central to this role. The incumbent will:
- Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support, while coordinating closely with Level 3 support teams for advanced issues.
- Support core health insurance platforms, including policy administration systems, claims management tools, intermediaries’ portals, and regulatory reporting engines.
- Troubleshoot system errors, data inconsistencies, and performance issues while ensuring minimal business disruption.
- Monitor application logs, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate with third-party vendors or infrastructure teams for resolution.
- Safeguard data integrity across critical systems, including policy, claims, reinsurance, and finance modules.
- Troubleshoot integration issues with platforms interfacing with the core policy administration system, such as SMART third-party EDI & Biometric platforms, D365 FO ERP, CRM 365, SharePoint, and regulator platforms.
This function ensures system reliability, efficient processing, and uninterrupted service delivery to clients, intermediaries, and regulators.
Software Development and Integration
The IT Core Systems Analyst – Health is also responsible for hands-on development and integration tasks, which include:
- Designing, developing, and maintaining custom application features, scripts, reports, and interfaces that support health insurance operations.
- Implementing system configuration changes, enhancements, and integrations with various partners, such as banks, regulators, intermediaries, and service providers.
- Building APIs and microservices that enable cross-platform data exchange, automation, and digital innovation.
- Working closely with DevOps teams to support Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes, version control, and deployment into testing and production environments.
