The Secretary will report to the Chair, Department of Agricultural Science and Technology at Kitui Campus. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide secretarial and administrative support to staff, students, and the Chair of the department.

Responsibilities include:

  • Welcoming and attending to visitors in a professional manner.
  • Receiving calls, taking messages, and managing incoming and outgoing correspondence.
  • Maintaining the diary of the Chair and arranging appointments with staff, guests, and students.
  • Typing, preparing, and distributing reports, memos, circulars, and notices.
  • Ensuring that all documentation at the department aligns with the University’s Quality Management Systems.
  • Liaising with relevant organizations, departments, and external clients as needed.
  • Managing confidential information with the highest level of discretion.
  • Performing any other duties as assigned by the Chair of the Department.

Fitness Instructor Grade C/D – Department of Physical Education, Exercise, and Sports Science

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting analytical techniques such as PH and EC testing, nitrogen determination through Kjeldahl method, spectrophotometry, flame photometry, and Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry.
  • Assisting in the collection, processing, and analysis of soil and plant samples.
  • Maintaining, calibrating, and operating laboratory instruments.
  • Preparing reagents and ensuring laboratory readiness for practical sessions.

Library Assistant Grade A/B – Library Department (Mombasa Campus)

The Library Assistant will play an integral role in ensuring efficient delivery of library services at the Mombasa Campus. The position supports circulation services, assists users with access to resources, and maintains an effective learning environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing circulation services including checking in and out library materials, handling overdue items, and processing fines.
  • Organizing, cataloguing, accessioning, and shelving library resources.
  • Supporting users by offering guidance on accessing electronic and physical resources.
  • Providing orientation for students and staff on library systems and databases.
  • Maintaining accurate records of library operations to ensure accountability.

Administrative Assistant Grade C/D – North Coast Beach Hotel

The Administrative Assistant will report directly to the General Manager of North Coast Beach Hotel. The position provides administrative support and plays a central role in managing human resource functions and ensuring smooth hotel operations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the General Manager with administrative duties, special projects, and preparing staff performance reports.
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and industry regulations.
  • Reviewing guest feedback and coordinating implementation of service improvements.
  • Handling confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Coordinating the recruitment process including advertising vacancies, screening applications, conducting interviews, and onboarding new employees.
  • Addressing employee concerns, fostering positive workplace relations, and enhancing staff engagement.
  • Promoting workplace safety through training sessions and regulatory compliance.
