NAROK, MIGORI COUNTIES
The African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC) is a premier research-to- policy institution, generating evidence, strengthening research and related capacity in the African research and development ecosystem, and engaging policy to inform action on health and development. APHRC seeks to drive change by developing strong African research leadership and promoting evidence-informed decision-making (EIDM) across sub-Saharan Africa.
APHRC is currently leading the Kenya Young Adolescents Gender Norms Study which aims to generate and strategically share evidence on key gender norms that influence behavior, health and socio-economic outcomes among young adolescents aged 10 – 14 years in Kenya. As part of the study’s preparation phase, we will conduct cognitive interviews to assess whether the survey tools are understandable, appropriate and acceptable to the target population. Cognitive interviewing will also help ensure that questions are interpreted (understood) by the target population as intended.
To support this activity, APHRC invites applications from qualified individuals (18) to serve as Cognitive Field Interviewers for the study. Data collection will take place in October and November 2025. Applicants from Kilifi, Narok and Migori counties are encouraged to apply.
