Compliance Officer – Risk and Compliance

The Compliance Officer will play a vital role in strengthening the institution’s compliance environment. This position is central to promoting Anti-Money Laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) objectives within the bank. The role is designed to ensure adherence to both local and international compliance standards while contributing to the development of a culture that upholds regulatory integrity across all operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the implementation of AML/CFT programs within the bank to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitoring and reporting on compliance with AML/CFT standards across different business units.
  • Conducting risk assessments on products, services, and business lines to identify potential AML/CFT vulnerabilities.
  • Reviewing and recommending improvements in the bank’s compliance framework to align with evolving regulatory requirements.
  • Working with senior management to develop and enhance policies and procedures related to compliance.
  • Training staff members on compliance matters, particularly on AML/CFT awareness, to build organizational capacity.
  • Preparing compliance reports for internal stakeholders and external regulators as required.
  • Collaborating with law enforcement agencies, regulators, and other institutions in matters related to AML/CFT compliance.
  • Investigating and documenting suspicious transactions and ensuring that proper reporting channels are followed.
  • Providing advice to business units on regulatory requirements and compliance best practices.
