1. Senior Finance Officer, Payroll

Job Purpose

The Senior Finance Officer, Payroll will play a central role within the Payroll Section of the Finance Department. Reporting to the Deputy Manager, Payroll Section, the officer will be responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll operations. This role is crucial in supporting the Finance Department’s mandate by managing payroll disbursements, enhancing internal controls, and maintaining compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and statutory obligations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Responsibilities

  • Enhance internal controls across payroll operations.
  • Champion the development, implementation, and execution of payroll processes as a core component of the Bank’s financial obligations.
  • Make proposals in payroll policy development and contribute to the creation of payroll operation manuals.

Technical and Operational Responsibilities

  • Process disbursement of staff emoluments efficiently and on time.
  • Assist in managing payroll workloads to meet operational requirements.
  • Capture and process data related to statutory deductions, reporting, and filing requirements.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly payroll reports for management review.
  • Carry out payroll accounts reconciliations and ensure strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Import, review, and process payment files for staff salary advances and development loans.
  • Uphold confidentiality and integrity in all payroll-related activities.

Other Responsibilities

  • Undertake any other duties as may be assigned by the Finance Department leadership and the Bank.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or any other relevant discipline from a reputable university.
  • Professional qualifications in accounting such as CPA (K), ACCA, or their equivalent.
  • Membership of ICPAK or ACCA.

Work Experience

  • At least four (4) years of post-qualification experience in a busy accounting-related environment.

  • Familiarity with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Proficiency in Financial and Management Accounting.
  • Skilled in payroll software and systems.

  • Understanding of Taxation, legislation, and pension rules and regulations.

2. Senior Business Analyst 2

Job Purpose

The Senior Business Analyst 2 will serve as a bridge between business needs and technological solutions. The role is designed for an analytical professional who can evaluate requirements, propose solutions, and ensure successful implementation of systems and processes that enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. Working closely with both business units and technical teams, the analyst will ensure alignment between strategy, systems, and execution.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic partner to business units by identifying, analyzing, and documenting requirements.
  • Contribute to the development of business cases and proposals for process improvements or system enhancements.
  • Ensure that solutions align with the Bank’s strategic objectives and compliance requirements.

Technical and Operational Responsibilities

  • Gather and document user requirements through structured techniques such as interviews, workshops, and surveys.
  • Analyze processes, systems, and workflows to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications for developers and solution providers.
  • Support the implementation of new systems by coordinating user acceptance testing (UAT) and ensuring smooth rollouts.
  • Monitor project progress, provide updates, and identify potential risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Provide post-implementation support to ensure new systems and processes deliver expected benefits.
  • Develop reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations effectively.

Other Responsibilities

  • Support the Finance Department leadership in strategic and operational projects.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned to ensure business continuity and process excellence.
