Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering direct patient care and implementing health programs. Key duties include:
- Patient Care: Taking medical history, examining, diagnosing, and treating patients with common ailments in both outpatient and inpatient health facilities.
- Community Health Activities: Implementing community health initiatives in collaboration with other healthcare workers to promote wellness and disease prevention.
- Guidance and Counseling: Providing guidance and counseling services to patients, clients, and staff on a wide range of health-related issues.
- Health Sensitization: Conducting health education sessions to sensitize patients and community members on preventive and promotive healthcare.
- Minor Surgical Procedures: Performing minor surgical interventions within the limits of training and skills to address patients’ immediate medical needs.
- Data Collection and Reporting: Collecting, analyzing, and compiling clinical data for use in patient management and reporting purposes.
- Referrals: Referring patients and clients to higher-level health facilities for specialized care when necessary.
- Shift Work: Working in flexible shifts to ensure continuous service delivery in the health facilities.

Qualifications and Requirements

- Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery or Clinical Medicine and Community Health from a recognized institution.
- Valid registration with the Clinical Officers Council.
- Valid practicing license issued by the Clinical Officers Council.
- Certificate in Computer Application Skills from a recognized institution.
