A. Division of Academics, Research and Innovation

1. Academic Registrar, Grade 3 (Formerly Grade 15)

Salary Scale: KES 224,631 – 345,816 per month, plus allowances.
Terms: Contract

The Academic Registrar is a senior leadership role reporting to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic, Research and Innovation). The role is central to ensuring efficient academic and research administration, as well as safeguarding student welfare.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership in the administration of academic and research programs.
  • Oversee the implementation of curricula, syllabi, rules, and student regulations.
  • Coordinate continuous assessment, teaching and exam timetables, and evaluation processes.
  • Provide secretarial support to Senate committees related to academic and student matters.
  • Supervise the processing of examinations, transcripts, and graduation certifications.
  • Manage student admissions, registration, and welfare services.
  • Guide Deans, Directors, and Chairs of Departments in academic program management.
  • Support academic staff development, training needs, and research collaborations.

2. Senior Lecturer, Grade 5A (Formerly Grade 13A)

Salary Scale: KES 154,739 – 283,221 per month, plus allowances.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lecture and supervise in the relevant area of specialization.
  • Prepare teaching and learning materials.
  • Set, administer, and mark examinations.
  • Engage in research, proposal development, and publication of scholarly work.
  • Present research findings at conferences, seminars, and workshops.
  • Participate in curriculum development and review.
  • Mentor junior faculty, tutorial fellows, and postgraduate students.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teach and supervise students in the area of specialization.
  • Conduct research and publish in peer-reviewed journals.

B. Division of Corporate Services

1. Sports Officer, Grade 8 (Formerly Grade 9) – Re-Advertised

Salary Scale: KES 55,373 – 85,250 per month, plus allowances.

The Sports Officer will play a vital role in promoting sports, wellness, and student engagement at SEKU.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide secretariat services to University committees.
  • Manage telephone, registry, and communication services.
