Role Overview
As an Operational Financial Controller, you will be a trusted advisor within our Nairobi operations. Your role will involve supporting commercial and operational teams to maximize profitability, ensure financial discipline, and deliver sustainable business growth. You will work closely with the Cluster Financial Controller and various business units to align operations with strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Ensure adherence to DGF Steering Logic principles with the support of the Cluster Financial Controller.
- Monitor service center setup and assist in resolving over/under recoveries promptly.
- Challenge business performance by reviewing customer profitability, selling rates, and buying rates.
- Oversee gross profit-sharing concerns and provide solutions where needed.
- Support commercial controlling activities, including Steering Logic reconciliations and addressing deviations.
- Assist with strategic projects, particularly with Business Case Analysis (BCA) preparation when opportunities arise.
- Utilize CW1 processes and supporting tools to improve efficiency, data accuracy, and overall operational performance.
- Drive file management practices, focusing on billing accuracy and gross profit maximization before closure.
- Address controlling topics such as billing timeliness, revenue leakage, cargo insurance, and disbursement fees.
- Lead system and process improvement projects related to operational and financial controlling.
- Provide guidance to operators, ensuring financial decisions contribute to profitable and sustainable growth.
- Analyze monthly results (MMR) and communicate drivers of results clearly to stakeholders.
- Manage stakeholder inquiries regarding finance processes and results with clarity and accuracy.
- Take on additional projects and outcomes as assigned to support evolving business needs.

- Finance Qualification: Recognized professional finance qualifications (e.g., CPA, CFA, ACCA) to support credibility and expertise in financial management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- CPA or equivalent finance qualification.
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience, ideally in financial controlling, analysis, or related fields.
