Position: Protocol and Research Officer

The Protocol and Research Officer will play a vital role in supporting the Embassy’s operations by facilitating communication with government institutions, international organizations, and other stakeholders. The officer will also provide research support, manage documentation, and assist with protocol duties to ensure the smooth functioning of the Embassy.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Drafting Official Documents: Prepare note verbals, letters, reports, and other formal documents required for diplomatic communication.
  • Protocol Support: Provide assistance with all protocol matters, ensuring proper representation and observance of diplomatic norms.
  • Facilitation of Communication: Act as a liaison between the Embassy and government ministries, agencies, as well as international organizations.
  • Research and Reporting: Conduct research on political, economic, social, cultural, environmental, and international affairs as requested by diplomats. Compile findings into well-structured reports.
  • Administrative Assistance: Support the Administrative Officer in the daily management of the Embassy’s operations.
  • Calendar Management: Assist in managing the Ambassador’s schedule, ensuring efficiency and timeliness in engagements.

Qualifications

Applicants are expected to meet the following requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in social science, law, or humanities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven work ethic with professionalism and integrity.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a reputable institution, preferably within a diplomatic mission or international organization.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

    • Recommendation letter from previous employers.
    • Qualification certificates mentioned in the CV.
    • Copy of NSSF and NHIF cards.

  • Application Period: 16th – 26th September 2025 (Embassy reception open from 8:00am – 4:30pm).
  • Deadline for Submission: Friday, 26th September 2025, by 4:30pm.
  • Interviews: Between 29th September – 2nd October 2025.
  • Final Selection Announcement: By 17th October 2025.
  • Expected Start Date: 10th November 2025.
