1. Faculty Position: Professor/Associate Professor/Senior Lecturer/Lecturer

The Department of Environment and Natural Resource Management at ANU is inviting applications for a faculty position. The successful candidate will join a vibrant academic community and contribute to advancing knowledge in areas such as Biostatistics, Data Science, Renewable Energy, Botany, Remote Sensing and GIS, Geological Sciences, Climatology and Climate Change, General Ecology, and Landscape Ecology.
This role is open at different faculty levels depending on qualifications and experience: Professor, Associate Professor, Senior Lecturer, or Lecturer.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Regardless of rank, faculty members will be expected to:
- Curriculum Development and Teaching:
- Contribute to the design, planning, and delivery of high-quality curricula.
- Review and update curriculum and course outlines.
- Prepare lesson plans, contact learning materials, online modules, and teaching aids.
- Utilize diverse teaching methods, including field studies, group activities, laboratory sessions, assignments, and experiential learning activities.
- Develop and implement learning assessment plans to ensure effective evaluation of student progress.
- Student Supervision and Support:
- Guide and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students in coursework, research, and internships.
- Provide academic and career advice to students, offering mentorship and support for their professional growth.
- Research and Scholarship:
- Participate actively in departmental and institutional research initiatives.
- Conduct original research in specialist areas and publish findings in reputable journals, books, or electronic media.
- Engage in collaborative research projects, grant writing, and establishing partnerships with other institutions and organizations.
- Professional Engagement:
- Attend and contribute to academic conferences, workshops, seminars, and industrial linkages.
- Promote community engagement, outreach, and partnerships relevant to the department’s mandate.
- Administrative and Institutional Responsibilities:
- Take part in departmental administration and field operations.
- Support the University’s mission and vision by participating in non-teaching responsibilities and initiatives that strengthen ANU’s academic and Christian values.
Qualifications and Experience by Rank
Professor
- At least three (3) years of teaching experience at the university level as an Associate Professor.
- A minimum of sixty (60) publication points as an Associate Professor or equivalent, with at least forty (40) from refereed scholarly journals.
- Proven national, regional, and international recognition for research.
- Supervised at least five (5) postgraduate students to completion, including two (2) doctoral candidates.
- Demonstrated ability to attract research funding.
Associate Professor
- At least three (3) years of teaching experience at the university level as a Senior Lecturer or Senior Researcher, or six (6) years of senior research/industry experience.
- A minimum of forty-eight (48) publication points as a Senior Lecturer or equivalent, with at least thirty-two (32) from refereed scholarly journals.
- Recognized nationally, regionally, and internationally for research contributions.
- Supervised at least four (4) postgraduate students to completion, including one (1) doctoral candidate.
- Record of securing research funds.
Senior Lecturer
- At least three (3) years of teaching experience at the university level as a Lecturer or Senior Researcher, or six (6) years of research/industry experience.
- A minimum of thirty-two (32) publication points as a Lecturer or equivalent, with at least twenty-four (24) from refereed scholarly journals.
- Evidence of national, regional, and international research recognition.
- Supervised at least three (3) postgraduate students to completion.
- Proven ability to attract research funding.
Lecturer
- At least three (3) years of teaching experience at the university level as a Lecturer, or five (5) years of research/industry experience with evidence of securing research funds.
- A minimum of twenty-four (24) publication points as a Lecturer or equivalent, with at least sixteen (16) from refereed scholarly journals.

- Ability to use online teaching and digital pedagogical tools.
