About the Role

The Cluster Manager will be responsible for driving the commercial and operational efficiency of the allocated region. The role requires strategic leadership, market awareness, and the ability to implement innovative initiatives that ensure profitability, growth, and customer satisfaction. The Cluster Manager will play a critical role in shaping the regional retail strategy, building partnerships, and ensuring operational excellence across multiple outlets.

Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic and Commercial Responsibilities

  • Drive revenue growth across all assigned outlets by ensuring achievement of sales, volume, and gross profit targets.
  • Identify opportunities to expand market share and attract new customers while retaining existing ones.
  • Develop and execute tailored sales strategies and promotional campaigns to maximize market impact.
  • Monitor competitor activity, analyze market trends, and provide actionable recommendations to remain competitive.
  • Foster customer-centric growth in the region, leveraging data and insights to guide business decisions.

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee daily operations across all outlets in the assigned region, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery.
  • Ensure accurate stock management and inventory control, with zero tolerance for variances.
  • Regularly review operational processes to improve efficiency, minimize waste, and enhance service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and audit requirements across all outlets.
  • Manage budgets and control expenditure while maintaining high standards of accountability.

Leadership and Team Development

  • Lead and mentor Deputy Store Managers and their teams, providing coaching, guidance, and performance feedback.
  • Foster a culture of high performance, ownership, and accountability within the retail team.
  • Ensure optimal staffing levels are maintained to support business needs.
  • Oversee training and development initiatives to enhance employee skills and service standards.
  • Promote teamwork, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing across outlets to achieve organizational goals.

Business Development and Partnerships

  • Build and leverage B2C retail partnerships within the region to drive traffic and increase brand visibility.
  • Develop collaborations with lifestyle brands, malls, SACCOs, influencers, and community organizations to expand market reach.
  • Drive co-promotions and loyalty programs that add value to customers while strengthening brand positioning.
  • Actively explore innovative retail opportunities that align with the company’s growth strategy.

Customer Experience and Relationship Management

  • Conduct regular outlet visits to assess customer service, operational performance, and brand representation.
  • Implement initiatives aimed at improving customer satisfaction and building long-term loyalty.
  • Gather and analyze customer feedback to refine service delivery and optimize product offerings.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders in the retail ecosystem to support growth objectives.

Reporting and Administrative Duties

  • Prepare and present comprehensive monthly business performance reports, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and corrective actions.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of operational and financial data.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support organizational priorities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales/Marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in a commercial or retail leadership role, preferably with oversight of multiple branches.
  • Skills:
    • Strong commercial acumen with a proven track record of driving sales and profitability.
    • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and develop actionable insights.
    • Effective leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration across all levels.
    • In-depth understanding of retail sales, pricing, margins, and profitability drivers.
    • Ability to identify growth opportunities and execute strategies that enhance both revenue and customer experience.
