110 Vacancies Open At County Government of Kiambu

The County Government of Kiambu, through its County Public Service Board, has announced a number of vacant positions within various departments in line with the provisions of Articles 176 and 235 of the Constitution of Kenya (2010) and Section 65 of the County Governments Act (2012). These positions are open to suitably qualified individuals who wish to serve in the Kiambu County Public Service.

The available vacancies span across administration, finance, public participation, health services, and transport sectors, thereby providing an opportunity for both professionals and skilled workers to contribute to the effective service delivery within the county.

1. Director Public Participation

Job Description

The Director of Public Participation will provide strategic leadership in ensuring inclusive governance through structured public engagement frameworks. The role will require developing and implementing policies that enhance citizen involvement in decision-making processes at county level.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Designing and implementing strategies that foster effective participation of citizens in county programs and policy formulation.
  • Coordinating stakeholder engagement forums across sub-counties to gather views and inputs from citizens.
  • Developing frameworks for civic education aimed at enhancing citizen awareness on governance and service delivery.
  • Preparing reports and policy briefs on outcomes of public participation exercises.
  • Advising the County Executive on matters related to participatory governance.
  • Overseeing and supervising officers within the Directorate of Public Participation.
  • Building partnerships with civil society, community organizations, and private sector to strengthen participatory processes.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of public participation initiatives and recommending improvements.

2. Deputy Director, Supply Chain Management

Job Description

The Deputy Director of Supply Chain Management will support the county in the management of procurement and supply chain operations to ensure efficiency, transparency, and compliance with procurement laws and regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing supply chain policies, systems, and procedures.
  • Overseeing procurement planning and ensuring alignment with county development plans.
  • Supervising the management of inventory, stores, and distribution processes.

  • Supporting the preparation and evaluation of tender documents.
  • Assisting in contract administration and supplier performance evaluation.
  • Coordinating storekeeping, stock-taking, and distribution of county assets.

Job Description

Drivers will provide professional driving services for the County Government’s fleet, ensuring the safety of passengers, goods, and vehicles.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Driving county vehicles for official assignments as authorized.
  • Ensuring the vehicles are kept clean, roadworthy, and well-maintained.
  • Carrying out routine checks to ensure road safety compliance.
  • Reporting any mechanical faults for timely repairs.
  • Maintaining records of work tickets and fuel consumption.
  • Ensuring security of vehicle documents and tools.
  • Observing traffic laws and regulations at all times.
  • Assisting in any messenger or delivery duties when required.

5. Medical Specialists I – 77 Positions

The County Government of Kiambu, under the Department of Health Services, is seeking to recruit Medical Specialists I in the following disciplines:

  • Obstetricians and Gynecologists – 15 posts
  • General Surgeons – 15 posts
  • Psychiatrists – 15 posts
  • Pediatric Dentists – 8 posts
  • Radiologists – 8 posts
  • Maxillofacial Surgeons – 8 posts
  • Physicians – 8 posts

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Undertaking general diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients.
  • Providing specialized clinical care and psychosocial interventions.
  • Offering clinical services to patients across county health facilities.
  • Training, consulting, and supervising surgeries and clinical procedures.
  • Conducting forensic and medico-legal services when required.
  • Coordinating disease surveillance, prevention, and control initiatives.
  • Leading health education and promotion programs within the county.
  • Implementing health projects and programs and ensuring updated health information systems.
  • Monitoring provision of health treatment and care services.
  • Conducting medical research and preparing analysis and reports on healthcare outcomes.

Salary Scale for Medical Specialists I

CPSB 04: Kshs. 102,860 × 5,070 – 107,930 × 5,300 – 113,230 × 5,560 – 118,790 × 5,840 – 124,630 × 6,070 – 130,700 × 6,370 – 137,070 per month.

  2. Applications should be dropped in the specific box provided at the County Public Service Board offices, Room 103, first floor, Thika Sub-County offices between 8.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. on weekdays.
  3. Applications must reach the Board on or before Wednesday, 15th October 2025.
  4. Shortlisted candidates will be required to produce original identity cards, academic and professional certificates, and clearance from the following institutions:
