BOMA Project Hiring Business Coaches (15 Positions)

by Recal

BOMA Project, a leading non-profit organization established in 2006, continues to make remarkable progress in addressing extreme poverty across Africa’s drylands. The organization has built a strong reputation through its innovative, context-specific approaches that empower vulnerable communities—particularly women, youth, and refugees—to build sustainable livelihoods and become resilient in the face of multiple economic and environmental challenges.

BOMA’s mission is to provide adapted economic inclusion programs that not only reduce poverty but also strengthen communities’ capacity to withstand crises. Through its well-recognized Rural Entrepreneur Access Project (REAP) model, the organization equips participants with business skills, access to capital, and market linkages necessary for long-term economic independence.

To date, BOMA has reached over one million individuals, transforming lives and catalyzing growth through data-driven, tech-enabled, and scalable solutions. Building upon this impact, BOMA is currently implementing a transformative initiative known as the Creating Shared Value with Young People in the Livestock Sector (CASHA) Project, which targets 15 Arid and Semi-Arid Land (ASAL) counties in Kenya.

This project aims to enhance economic opportunities for young people and women by unlocking potential in livestock and agri-related value chains. In line with this goal, BOMA is seeking to recruit 15 Business Coaches to deliver on-the-ground training, mentorship, and enterprise development support to participants in the CASHA Project.

Project Overview

The CASHA Project is a five-year initiative designed to empower 300,000 youth and women in 15 ASAL counties through improved access to employment, sustainable enterprises, and active participation in livestock and agricultural value chains.

The project promotes inclusive growth by addressing critical challenges such as gender inequality, limited access to financial services, weak market systems, and vulnerability to climate change. Through collaboration with key stakeholders—including county governments, private sector actors, and training institutions—the project seeks to strengthen local economies while ensuring that beneficiaries are well-equipped to thrive in dynamic market environments.

The target counties have been strategically organized into four clusters for effective implementation:
