Currently, CHAK is inviting applications for two positions: ICT Officer (based at the CHAK Secretariat in Nairobi) and Head Chef (based at CHAK Guest House & Conference Centre). These positions call for individuals with proven expertise, professionalism, and dedication to service excellence.

Job Summary

The ICT Officer will be responsible for providing professional, technical, and operational support to CHAK’s ICT infrastructure, systems, and services. The position involves supporting the organization’s digitization agenda, deploying and maintaining ICT systems, ensuring data security, and promoting technology-driven efficiency.

The successful candidate will manage enterprise systems, oversee ICT projects, and provide ongoing support to ensure reliability, continuity, and innovation in CHAK’s information systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide ICT technical support in implementing CHAK’s digitization projects, including system deployment, user training, monitoring, and resolution of issues in collaboration with service providers.
  • Continuously assess CHAK’s ICT environment, explore emerging technologies, and recommend innovative solutions to enhance service delivery.
  • Undertake ICT-related projects such as system deployment, research on new technologies, and development of customized solutions that address organizational needs.
  • Contribute to the formulation and execution of ICT strategies, policies, plans, and guidelines for CHAK’s operations.
  • Optimize ICT resources by mitigating risks, conducting regular security monitoring, and implementing preventive measures against cyber threats.
  • Provide user support and training to improve ICT literacy and ensure effective use of digital tools across departments.
  • Perform systems administration duties to ensure continuous operation of networks, databases, and enterprise software.
  • Offer ICT support for CHAK’s virtual meetings, webinars, and online training sessions.
  • Manage service contracts and maintain effective relationships with ICT service providers to ensure timely and efficient delivery of services.
  • Conduct routine data backup operations, ensuring data integrity, recovery readiness, and compliance with organizational data protection standards.
  • Install, configure, and maintain ICT software, hardware, and networking infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain web applications, software updates, and digital platforms while ensuring quality assurance and operational continuity.
  • Test and evaluate new ICT systems and hardware, reporting findings and performance recommendations to the ICT Manager.
  • Oversee the management of servers, CHAK’s website, and service desk operations, ensuring high system availability and user satisfaction.
  • Maintain up-to-date ICT documentation, including system manuals, network configurations, and administrative records.
  • Troubleshoot ICT problems promptly and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Prepare periodic ICT performance reports, incident documentation, and escalate technical challenges where necessary.

Academic Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CCNA, N+, MCSE, MCITP, ITIL, or A+ will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in managing enterprise systems including Microsoft Dynamics, ERP platforms, and database administration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, Azure, and other cloud-based platforms.
  • Membership in a recognized ICT professional body is desirable.
  • At least six years of progressive experience in ICT management and systems support within a busy or multi-user environment.
