Regional Campaign Lead, Health and Life Sciences (HEO – 32/25 NR)

The Regional Campaign Lead for Health and Life Sciences will drive the UK’s engagement across sub-Saharan Africa in healthcare innovation, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and digital health systems. This role supports the UK’s goal of deepening bilateral and regional cooperation in health security, research, and healthcare delivery while promoting the UK’s world-class life sciences capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a regional campaign strategy to enhance the UK’s trade and investment footprint in the health and life sciences sectors.
  • Identify commercial opportunities for UK companies across healthcare systems, medical technologies, pharmaceuticals, and digital health innovations.
  • Engage with key stakeholders, including ministries of health, research institutions, donor agencies, and healthcare providers, to build networks that facilitate UK engagement in health-related initiatives.
  • Coordinate efforts to promote UK expertise in health infrastructure, public health innovation, and clinical research collaborations.
  • Provide sectoral analysis and policy recommendations to guide UK commercial and diplomatic engagement across the region.
  • Support UK companies in understanding market entry requirements, regulatory frameworks, and procurement processes within African health markets.
  • Work closely with DBT teams in London and across the region to ensure a coherent approach to UK health sector promotion and trade facilitation.
  • Produce regular reports, briefings, and success stories that demonstrate impact and alignment with broader UK government objectives in health diplomacy and trade.
  • Represent the UK at regional health conferences, trade missions, and business forums to promote the country’s strengths in health innovation and partnership.
  • Foster collaboration between UK and African stakeholders to address shared health challenges and improve access to quality healthcare services.

The successful candidate will combine strong sectoral knowledge with the ability to lead collaborative initiatives that deliver measurable economic and social impact.
