Regional Campaign Lead, Advanced Engineering and Clean Energy (HEO – 31/25 NR)

The Regional Campaign Lead for Advanced Engineering and Clean Energy will play a pivotal role in promoting the United Kingdom’s industrial expertise and green transition capabilities across sub-Saharan Africa. The position sits within the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) at the British High Commission, Nairobi, and contributes to delivering the UK government’s objectives in sustainable growth, renewable energy adoption, and engineering innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of a regional campaign focused on advanced engineering and clean energy sectors, aligning with UK trade and investment priorities.
- Identify and pursue commercial opportunities for UK businesses in areas such as renewable energy generation, clean technologies, electric mobility, green hydrogen, and sustainable infrastructure.
- Build and manage strategic relationships with key public and private sector stakeholders across the region, including governments, investors, business associations, and international partners.
- Provide sector intelligence and policy insights to inform decision-making and strengthen UK positioning in priority markets.
- Collaborate closely with DBT sector teams and regional posts to develop coordinated trade promotion strategies that enhance UK exports and support inward investment opportunities.
- Develop market engagement plans, sector reports, and briefing materials to highlight the UK’s expertise in clean and advanced engineering solutions.
- Support UK businesses to navigate local regulatory environments and establish partnerships with regional entities.
- Monitor and report on progress against agreed key performance indicators (KPIs), including export wins, investment inflows, and partnership agreements.
- Represent the UK government at industry events, conferences, and exhibitions relevant to engineering and clean energy.
- Promote the UK’s commitment to sustainable development, climate action, and inclusive economic growth across Africa.
