This Opportunity:
Funded under the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through a cooperative agreement with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Palladium Development and Consultancy Kenya Ltd (Palladium Kenya) is implementing 5-year funding to support the Kenya Ministry of Health, county governments, and healthcare service delivery partners to implement technological innovations in health information systems.
Position Summary:
The Business Analyst will play a pivotal role in supporting the development, enhancement, and implementation of digital health platforms including TaifaCare,KenyaEMR and the National HIV Data Warehouse. This role involves working closely with stakeholders across the Ministry of Health, DHA, implementing partners, and technical teams to gather,analyse, and document user requirements that inform system improvements and ensure alignment with Kenya’s Digital Health Strategy, the relevant policies and digital transformation agenda.

Reporting and Supervision:
Reporting to the Business Analysis Lead the business analyst will be embedded with all technical teams within the KenyaHMIS project.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the elicitation, analysis, and documentation of business and technical requirements from diverse stakeholders including MOH, DHA, USG partners, and health facility users.
- Translate user needs into clear, actionable requirements for development teams, including process flows, variable maps, wireframes, and mock screens.
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement sessions and coordinate the requirements sign-off process to ensure consensus and commitment.
- Collaborate with capacity building, technical support, and stakeholder engagement teams to continuously gather and refine requirements based on field feedback and system usage.
- Work closely with quality assurance teams to validate that system enhancements meet documented requirements and user expectations.
- Participate in product design and enhancement meetings to ensure alignment with user needs and national
- health priorities.
Support interoperability efforts between TaifaCare, HIV Data Warehouse, and other digital health platforms. - Maintain comprehensive documentation of requirements, decisions, and system changes.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the Kenya HMIS Project.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar role within digital health or software development.
- Proven experience in requirements elicitation, validation, and prioritization using industry-standard techniques.
- Strong understanding of healthcare systems, health information exchange, and digital health platforms.
- Experience with mHealth and eHealth applications is highly desirable.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Strong documentation and analytical skills.
