Brand Store Officer
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Senior Marketing Officer, the Brand Store Officer is responsible for ensuring the smooth and effective operation of the USIU-Africa Brand Store, both in-store and online. The officer will deliver an excellent customer experience, manage store operations, and promote the university’s brand through quality merchandising and service. The officer will also provide professional advice to customers, maintain visual appeal, ensure accurate inventory management, and contribute to strategies that enhance store profitability and visibility.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee daily store operations, including sales (in-store and online), merchandising, restocking, order management, and reporting.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure timely replenishment of stock.
- Manage till operations, sales reconciliation, and stock-taking procedures.
- Provide personalized advice to customers to help them select suitable and relevant branded items.
- Ensure that every customer receives exceptional service that reflects the USIU-Africa brand values.
- Address customer inquiries and feedback promptly and professionally.
- Ensure the brand store is visually appealing, well-organized, and consistently aligned with USIU-Africa’s branding standards.
- Take full responsibility for the cleanliness, layout, and overall presentation of the store.
- Identify and propose innovative ideas, new product lines, and promotional strategies to drive sales and enhance customer engagement.
- Develop and implement business strategies to grow the customer base, increase store traffic, and maximize profitability.
- Analyze buying trends, customer preferences, and sales performance to inform future decisions.
- Liaise with vendors to source branded merchandise in line with the university’s procurement policies and procedures.
- Ensure quality, appropriate quantities, and timely delivery of goods.
- Manage the brand store’s online sales platform, ensuring timely processing and fulfillment of online orders.
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Department to maintain accurate and engaging online product listings.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on sales performance, customer feedback, inventory status, and store operations.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned that align with the role and objectives of the Marketing and Communications Department.
Qualifications, Education, Experience and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Retail Management, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- At least three (3) years of experience in retail, sales, or the FMCG sector.
- Demonstrated experience in store management, merchandising, and customer service.
- Proficiency in IT applications including POS systems, online sales platforms, and inventory management tools.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
- High level of attention to detail to ensure store presentation and product accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to provide advice and support to customers in line with brand values.
- Solid understanding of customer service best practices and retail operations.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Innovative mindset with the ability to identify and implement creative sales and merchandising strategies.
