About the Role

The United Nations Resident Coordinator System (RCS) is offering an exciting opportunity for a Programme Management Intern – Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) based in Nairobi. This internship is ideal for individuals passionate about human rights, ethics, and accountability within humanitarian and development contexts. The intern will support efforts to strengthen prevention, response, and coordination mechanisms on sexual exploitation and abuse across UN entities and partners.


Job Description

Working under the direct supervision of the PSEA Coordinator, the intern will assist in advancing the UN’s system-wide strategy to prevent and respond to sexual exploitation and abuse. Responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the coordination of inter-agency PSEA activities, meetings, and workshops.
  • Assisting in preparing reports, briefs, and documentation on PSEA initiatives and progress.
  • Helping to collect and organize data and information to support analysis and decision-making.
  • Contributing to the development of awareness, training, and communication materials for staff and partners.
  • Maintaining updated records and databases of PSEA focal points and implementing partners.
  • Assisting with administrative and logistical tasks related to PSEA events and advocacy campaigns.
  • Performing other duties as assigned to support ongoing programme initiatives.

Learning Opportunities

The intern will gain practical experience in programme coordination, inter-agency collaboration, and protection work within the UN system. They will develop a strong understanding of accountability frameworks and ethical standards central to UN operations.
