Mission for Essential Drugs and Supplies (MEDS) is a faith-based health solutions provider established in 1986 through a partnership between the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB) and the Christian Health Association of Kenya (CHAK). Guided by the vision of ensuring access to quality and affordable health products and services, MEDS has become one of Kenya’s most trusted and impactful organizations in the pharmaceutical and healthcare supply chain sector.

Headquartered in Nairobi, with regional branches including Kisumu, MEDS serves health facilities, faith-based organizations, government institutions, and NGOs both locally and regionally. The organization’s work revolves around three core mandates:

  • Provision of quality and affordable Health Products and Technologies (HPTs)
  • Delivery of Quality Assurance Services
  • Implementation of Health Systems Strengthening Programs

As part of its continuous expansion and operational excellence, MEDS is seeking competent, dynamic, and values-driven professionals to fill the following positions. These opportunities are open to Kenyan nationals who are passionate about health systems strengthening, innovation, and efficient service delivery within a faith-based framework.


1. Accountant – Taxation and Costing

The Accountant – Taxation and Costing will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with statutory tax obligations, implementing cost accounting systems, and supporting management decision-making through accurate financial reporting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of statutory taxes, including VAT, PAYE, withholding tax, and corporate tax.
• Maintain an up-to-date understanding of Kenyan tax laws and advise management on compliance and emerging tax issues.
• Oversee costing procedures to determine product and service cost structures, including analysis of margins and profitability.
• Prepare cost and variance reports to support pricing decisions and financial planning.
• Liaise with external auditors and tax authorities during audits and reviews.
• Develop internal controls to ensure compliance with financial and accounting standards.
• Support the finance team in budget preparation, expenditure tracking, and cost optimization.


2. Assistant Accountant

The Assistant Accountant will support daily accounting operations, maintain financial records, and assist in the preparation of financial statements in line with MEDS accounting standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
• Post and reconcile transactions in the accounting system and ensure accuracy of ledger entries.
• Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements and management reports.
• Reconcile bank accounts and supplier statements to maintain up-to-date records.
• Process payments, invoices, and expense claims in accordance with internal financial controls.
• Support fixed asset management, depreciation schedules, and stock reconciliations.
• Participate in internal and external audit exercises by providing required documentation.
• Contribute to maintaining effective financial systems and data integrity.


3. Client Relations Officer – Kisumu Branch (1 Position)

The Client Relations Officer – Kisumu Branch will manage customer accounts and promote strong client relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.

Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients in the Western region, ensuring efficient service delivery.
• Process client orders, inquiries, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
• Maintain accurate client records and ensure all documentation is properly filed.
• Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to track deliveries and resolve service issues.
• Promote MEDS products and services to existing and prospective clients to grow business relationships.
• Support credit control activities by monitoring account balances and ensuring timely payments.


4. Client Relations Officer – Head Office (2 Positions)

The Client Relations Officer at the Head Office will play a critical role in coordinating customer service operations, managing key accounts, and supporting client engagement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide front-line support for clients through calls, emails, and in-person interactions.
• Process and manage orders efficiently through the ERP system.
• Handle client feedback, follow up on unresolved issues, and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Prepare client activity reports, sales summaries, and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with warehouse, logistics, and finance departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Contribute to customer retention and marketing initiatives through proactive relationship management.


5. Client Relations Assistant – Head Office (4 Positions)

The Client Relations Assistant will provide administrative and operational support to the Client Relations team, ensuring smooth coordination of client service processes.

Key Responsibilities:
• Receive and process client orders and ensure they are accurately recorded.
• Respond to client inquiries and direct them to the appropriate officers for resolution.
• Maintain client databases and ensure that client files are updated and well organized.
• Support the preparation of reports and correspondence related to client service activities.
• Assist in order tracking, delivery confirmation, and feedback management.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain excellent service standards.


6. Field Officer

The Field Officer will support outreach, training, and supervision activities under the Health Systems Strengthening and Quality Assurance programs.

Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate field visits to health facilities for monitoring, training, and data collection.
• Support implementation of capacity-building activities and workshops for partner health institutions.
• Collect and analyze field data to inform program evaluation and reporting.
• Liaise with county health teams, partners, and implementing organizations to support program objectives.
• Prepare detailed field reports, document best practices, and identify areas for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with MEDS policies, health regulations, and project requirements.


7. Health Systems Strengthening Officer

The Health Systems Strengthening Officer will oversee implementation of health systems projects and ensure that interventions are effectively planned, executed, and evaluated.

Key Responsibilities:
• Support the design and roll-out of health systems strengthening initiatives in collaboration with partners.
• Facilitate training and mentorship for health workers on governance, supply chain, and service delivery improvement.
• Collect and analyze data to assess health system performance and identify capacity gaps.
• Prepare periodic technical reports and contribute to proposal development and donor reports.
• Liaise with government, faith-based, and community stakeholders to promote integrated health programs.
• Monitor and evaluate project outcomes, ensuring timely and quality reporting.


8. ICT Officer – Database Administration

The ICT Officer – Database Administration will manage MEDS databases, ensuring data integrity, security, and performance optimization across all digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
• Administer and maintain MEDS databases to ensure reliability, accuracy, and data security.
• Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to safeguard organizational data.
• Support system integration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting of database-related issues.
• Design and maintain data dashboards and reporting tools to support operational decision-making.
• Collaborate with ICT and ERP teams to improve system efficiency and automation.
• Document database structures, configurations, and maintenance procedures.


9. Internal Audit Officer

The Internal Audit Officer will be responsible for conducting independent audits and assessments to ensure compliance, efficiency, and integrity of MEDS operations.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute audit plans based on risk assessments and operational priorities.
• Conduct financial, operational, and compliance audits across MEDS departments.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and recommend improvements.
• Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings to management.
• Follow up on implementation of audit recommendations and corrective actions.
• Support the organization’s risk management framework through continuous monitoring.


10. Internal Audit Assistant – (2 Positions)

The Internal Audit Assistant will provide technical and administrative support in executing audit assignments, documentation, and compliance checks.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in conducting routine audits of financial and operational systems.
• Verify supporting documentation for transactions and ensure adherence to policies.
• Compile audit working papers and prepare draft reports for review.
• Maintain audit records and assist in data analysis and risk identification.
• Support the audit officer in preparing management presentations and summaries.


11. Inventory Control Officer – Kisumu Branch

The Inventory Control Officer will manage stock levels, ensure accurate record-keeping, and maintain efficient warehouse operations at the Kisumu branch.

Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee stock receipt, storage, and dispatch processes in line with established procedures.
• Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile variances promptly.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment of supplies.
• Prepare stock movement and utilization reports.
• Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to align supply chain operations.
• Ensure compliance with Good Storage and Distribution Practices (GSDP).


12. Laboratory Assistant

The Laboratory Assistant will support laboratory operations, quality testing, and maintenance of laboratory equipment under the Quality Assurance Department.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct sampling, labeling, and preparation of materials for testing.
• Assist in performing analytical and microbiological tests on products.
• Maintain laboratory records and ensure test results are accurately documented.
• Clean and calibrate laboratory equipment in accordance with standard procedures.
• Support implementation of laboratory quality management systems.
• Ensure safe handling and disposal of laboratory waste.


13. Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will design and implement M&E systems to assess the performance and impact of MEDS programs.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop M&E plans, indicators, and data collection tools for projects.
• Coordinate data collection, analysis, and reporting in collaboration with field teams.
• Ensure accurate and timely entry of program data into reporting systems.
• Prepare monitoring reports and disseminate findings to management and partners.
• Support project evaluations and impact assessments.
• Train program staff and partners on M&E frameworks and data use for decision-making.


14. Quality Assurance Officer

The Quality Assurance Officer will oversee the implementation of quality standards across MEDS operations to ensure compliance with regulatory and ISO requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Distribution Practices (GDP).
• Conduct supplier audits and quality inspections of incoming health products.
• Develop and update quality documentation, SOPs, and audit checklists.
• Review product test results and ensure adherence to quality specifications.
• Investigate quality incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and certification programs.


15. Quality Assurance Assistant – Kisumu Branch

The Quality Assurance Assistant will support quality control operations at the Kisumu branch and assist in product inspection, documentation, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
• Collect samples for quality analysis and maintain related documentation.
• Support inspection of products for compliance with quality standards.
• Prepare and file quality control records and laboratory reports.
• Coordinate with the Nairobi Quality Assurance team on quality verification and reporting.
• Assist in maintaining the branch quality management system and regulatory compliance.


16. Resource Centre and Information Officer

The Resource Centre and Information Officer will manage the MEDS Resource Centre, ensuring accessibility, documentation, and dissemination of relevant information resources.

Key Responsibilities:
• Manage physical and digital information resources, including journals, publications, and reports.
• Facilitate access to knowledge resources for staff, partners, and researchers.
• Maintain the Resource Centre database and cataloguing system.
• Support knowledge management initiatives and information-sharing platforms.
• Coordinate documentation of MEDS activities, success stories, and learning materials.
• Provide information support to programs, communications, and policy units.


17. Risk Officer

The Risk Officer will be responsible for implementing risk management frameworks, identifying organizational risks, and ensuring appropriate mitigation measures.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain the enterprise risk management (ERM) framework.
• Identify, assess, and monitor operational, financial, and strategic risks.
• Maintain a risk register and track implementation of mitigation actions.
• Conduct risk awareness sessions and capacity-building activities.
• Collaborate with audit, finance, and compliance units to strengthen internal controls.
• Prepare periodic risk reports and submit them to management and the Board Audit Committee.


18. Warehouse Officer

The Warehouse Officer will oversee efficient management of inventory, logistics, and distribution processes to ensure timely delivery of supplies to clients.

Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise receiving, storage, and dispatch operations in the warehouse.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure physical stock aligns with system data.
• Oversee staff performance, safety, and compliance with warehouse standards.
• Ensure adherence to temperature control and product handling requirements.
• Coordinate order fulfillment and delivery schedules.
• Prepare warehouse reports and support audits and stock verification exercises.
