Business Development Officer General Business (Kisii, Nakuru, Kitengela, and Nairobi) – 1 Year Contract

Job Purpose
The job holder is responsible for growth of Bancassurance business across the bank branches and generate non- funded income through cross and upselling of policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect and market to new clients and customers.
- Prepare quotations, negotiate terms for customers and close on the sales
- Drive sustainable growth of the assigned branch and corporate insurance portfolio.
- Send renewal invites/notices, calling clients to renew in order to achieve 90% retention.
- Make client visits and review scope of cover ensuring valuation of vehicles, risk survey is done and reports shared with clients.
- Collect premiums as per laid down procedures and liaising with finance team for receipting
- Assist client fill forms, forward forms to insurer.
- Forward forms to asset finance and follow up for disbursement.
- Engage existing customers for additional business through cross sell and upsell.
- Train branch and DSE staff on existing and new products
- Execute day-to-day operations across the assigned branches which entail customer enquiries, underwriting, delivery of policy documents, claims documentation, KYC compliance etc.
- Develop good business relationship with BMs, branch staff, RMs in order to generate warm business leads.
- Ensure full compliance with all regulatory and internal procedures in relation to bancassurance business.
- Ensure all collaterals which have bank’s interest are comprehensively insured and bank’s interest properly noted.
- Any other official duty that may be allocated from time to time.

Academic Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree in a Social Science or related field
Professional Qualifications / Membership to professional bodies/ Publication
· Relevant professional qualification – COP, IIK, DIP or CII
· Member of a relevant professional body
Work Experience Required
· At least Three (3) years relevant experience in a similar organisation.
