Scrum Master

Lead, inspire, and deliver with precision
When teams work with focus, rhythm, and purpose, great things happen. We are looking for a Scrum Master who can bring that balance: a servant leader who coaches for agility while ensuring disciplined delivery. At Co-operative Bank’s Digital Factory, agility is more than process; it is how we think, collaborate, and execute to deliver exceptional digital experiences for our customers.
This role will require you to be passionate about empowering teams, building high-performing squads, and ensuring every sprint delivers tangible value. You are equally adept at coaching and communicating as you are at planning, tracking, and reporting. You know that true agility is a combination of mindset, structure, and measurable progress, and you thrive at the intersection of all three.
Reporting to the Head, Digital Products & Innovation Factory, you will be responsible for championing Agile practices, guiding cross-functional teams, and maintaining delivery cadence and transparency through data-driven reporting and structured execution excellence.
The Role
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Champion agility and continuous improvement by coaching teams on Agile principles and practices to foster self-organization, collaboration, and delivery excellence.
- Own and manage delivery planning by developing and maintaining sprint and release plans while ensuring dependencies, risks, and milestones are clearly managed and communicated.
- Drive measurable execution through tracking and analyzing key Agile metrics such as velocity, throughput, cycle time, and team health to guide continuous improvement.
- Facilitate collaboration and problem-solving by building an environment of trust and transparency, proactively removing impediments, and coordinating across business, technology, and support functions.
- Enhance reporting and governance by preparing and presenting executive-level reports, dashboards, and retrospectives that provide clear visibility of progress, risks, and achievements.
- Support Product Owners by collaborating on backlog refinement, ensuring alignment with business goals, and maintaining a clear Definition of Done.
- Lead with influence and authenticity by fostering a culture of accountability, empathy, and continuous improvement.
- Champion Agile evangelism by guiding teams and stakeholders toward more adaptive and customer-focused ways of working.
Qualifications, Skills & Attributes
The successful jobholder will be required to possess the following qualifications: –
- A Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, or related field, with relevant professional qualifications in Agile or Project Management.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM, PSM I/II, or SAFe) with proven, hands-on Scrum experience.
- At least 4 years’ experience working as a Scrum Master in a fast-paced software delivery environment, ideally within digital product or financial technology teams.
- Strong understanding of Agile frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, and XP, including experience in tracking and using metrics to drive continuous improvement.
- Proven ability to plan, measure, and report on delivery outputs such as velocity, burndown, and delivery KPIs, with strong analytical and documentation skills.
- Experience using Agile tools such as TFS, Daptive, or Azure DevOps for workflow management and reporting.
- Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to simplify complex information and align diverse teams.
- A problem solver and coach who is resilient, adaptable, and capable of navigating ambiguity with focus and calm.
- A strong sense of accountability and structure, balanced by empathy and a passion for team growth and innovation.
You Will Thrive in This Role If You:
- Combine strategic thinking with operational discipline.
- Enjoy translating data and insights into meaningful action.
- Are a natural facilitator who brings out the best in others.
- Value continuous improvement and iterative learning.
- Communicate with clarity, confidence, and empathy.
- Believe agility is not a process but a mindset.
We are redefining the digital banking experience, designing and delivering solutions that make a meaningful difference in our customers’ lives. You will be joining a multidisciplinary team that values innovation, excellence, collaboration, and integrity.
